You win with good guards and I can honestly say that Robinson and Jones are the worst guard tandem that I have seen this tourney. Wichita St and N. Iowa guards would run circles around them.

I was just about to post the same thing. Teams with guards who can create off the dribble win games in this tournament. Pitt never has those guys. Doug Gottleib has always said the reason Dixon hasn't gotten to a Final 4 plain and simple is the lack of a dynamic scoring option in the back court.

This team had a PG who you could time with a sundial and who couldn't make shots on the hoops at Dave and Busters.

Definitely add the Steve Austin guards to that list.

But ... but it's coaching, right? When Dixon had good guards his teams advanced to five Sweet Sixteens and an Elite Eight. Recruit playmakers at that position and good things happen. We got one coming in next year, we didn't have one the last 4 years.
