Four things/observations from on-site Dayton, and some awful Mississippi St fans:
  1. Huge shout out to Guillermo. 37 mins against one of the best bigs in the country, and he performed better than any of us could have expected, even with a few offensive woes. Love to see it.
  2. The energy of March Madness is just different, I love that we are a part of this again. Dayton hosts a great First Four.
  3. The genuine joy this team has when playing together is incredibly refreshing. Love the energy they have.
  4. Mississippi St. fans were a mixed bag. I sat to the right of the main group, and GDG was frustrating and disruptive enough, they started shouting “go back to your country.” Take that for what it is, but just think about it. Most of those idiots probably had no idea he was our back-up, and he STILL was effective enough to lead to that reaction from their fans. This started happening with about 10 mins left in the game.
Anyways, great time and H2P!

Their fans came across as minimally emotionally invested on TV. Like they knew what their fate would be and seemed resigned to it. Pitt fans were loud, so maybe they just felt out of their element, similar to how I feel at games in West Virginia (don't cheer too loudly or you might end up on some boor's spit tonight).

99% of Mississippians couldn't locate Spain on a map.

I doubt they even know what country the twins came from. They're not real smart down there.

Well the canary islands are really not near spain . They are located off the coast of africa south of casablanca
Yes. And?

I'm not expecting them to know that.

Hell.... they couldn't locate Dayton, Ohio on a map.

I wish they’d start their own country

Gotta admit I didn’t know where the Canary Islands were located until about 5 years ago. I love Google Earth, and just wondered if there were islands in the Atlantic like in the Pacific, and that’s when I learned of them.

Msu fans care 99 about football and 1% about basketball. They may care more about baseball and womens gymnastics
