huge improvement over last week
Helps a bit when he doesn’t have to worry about the pass.
Yea it does. Greatly simplifies his read responsibilities and let’s him commit to the run and play downhill. He looked lost and played on his heels all day against the PSU RPO offense. No it doesn’t
This team had 400yatds rushing against us last year and Hamlin looked awful. Give the guy credit
if the offense and special teams held up their end of the bargain the D would have held PSU to 31 points or under. The gave up 14 in the first half and I blame the special teams for 7 of that. Second half they started well but caved when the special teams and offense sucked. The whole defense looks good so far. I agree the coaches seem to have them ready for this game. Maybe they played psu too early, they needed some game time before they were ready to play a decent team in bad weather. This is what we were hoping to see.
Give the kid some credit. He was in position on that pitch and blew up play after play in the first half. Big reason they went three and out on those early possessions. Nice to see him play well.Yea it does. Greatly simplifies his read responsibilities and let’s him commit to the run and play downhill. Another nice thump on searcy. He is having a game so far

No it doesn't.
It's the same damn thing.
He's got a multitude of reads by the playside slot vs GT. If he's got motion away from him, he's got to haul ass over to lock up the far side slot in coverage but also be responsible for the pitch if they counter option back.
RPO team reads aren't difficult if the OL isn't cheating (working to the 2ND level). He's reading EMOL to #2.
Yes, he had a great day today. He flew to the ball, but he often tackles with his shoulder, with his arm tucked against his body. It worked today, but I hate that style of tackling; it leads to a lot of broken tackles and big plays when a safety does it.Like him to actually wrap up a bit more than always trying for the death blow, he's not big enough for that. But absolutely some nice plays today.
PSU’s average starting field position I think I read was just short of midfield. Pitt got crushed in the battle for field position in the second half and it was like they didn’t even realize it was slowly but surely happening. Then the flood gates opened.if the offense and special teams held up their end of the bargain the D would have held PSU to 31 points or under. All RPO teams send linemen to the second level to block, it’s a big gripe of a lot of DCs. Hamlin has struggled with his reads, calls and switches in coverage. He has bit on plenty of run action plays which has left him out of position and without leverage on the slot receivers or the outside receivers on switches. Did you not see the first two games? No it doesn't.

Best game he has played at Pitt. Good job.
Did you see Gameday with David Pollack? He was going off in regards to what you said about RPO’s and OL.No it doesn't.
