Hang on to what we have, add Hamlin and Camp, and

that is one hell of a class for this program, one we haven't seen the likes of in a loooooong time.

Throw in one of the two remaining WR targets and that;s icing on the cake, we will have addressed all over our biggest needs.

Hopefully in next year's class we can balance out the O and D personnel a little better, this year it was pretty obviously about defense. Narduzzi clearly recognized we don;t have enough of the kind of athletes that are necessary to do what he wants to do. The days of the 5'7 CB at Pitt are about to be over. Picture a Hamlin and Henry Miller on the corners with Whitehead and another stud at safety. Long, rangy, strong, fast athletes at all 4 spots.

The emphasis, energy and effort that this staff has put forth in this recruiting cycle is really a breath of fresh air--especially the effort and enthusiasm that our head coach has personally put in. A

Bright future for as long as we can hang onto our coaches.

I really dont think we need another WR...

I personally think we need a C, TE, and Hamlin. Camp is a nice get, he is a highly rated and highly sought after recruit, I honestly dont think we 'need' him with Watts and Wheeler in the fold though. Also, is this kicker an actual recruit? How is he not 3 stars? He kicks the bejeebus out of the ball on tape, at least as good as the 3 3 star players UPS have recruited at K. A bit on kickers and Pitt... do you guys think the new soccer coach can be an asset there? The guy is one of the best in the nation. Should be a selling point potentially.

Unless Nards is going to ask current receivers to leave the program, I think we have wayyyyyyy too many wideouts and adding 4 more to one class when the other 3 are already quite good, to me, is too many.

I am really under the impression unless a 5 star kid or something close suddenly materializes with interest... Id pass. Even this Weaver kid... looks great, and I am sure he is a good add, but with the kids like Gilbert, who I do really think is an undervalued star recruit, along with Jones and Hargrove, we dont really need him as well. You are creating a real log-jam there and will get attrition and ill feelings. With good coaches and winning, I can see that Pitt is getting involved with better and better players, but unless your Harbaughing it an cutting kids from commitments, I say just take the kids coming, make sure they are coming, and start on 2017.

Don't know much on Recruits and why I love reading and learning from Smarter Posters on the Lair that do Discuss and Share such knowledge and predictions on Recruiting. Spouts, Doubts, and still are all they are good analysis!

In the end after Signing Days I am happy to trust Narduzzi & Staff Noses to know, and let the chips fall based on how those Recruits respond to such choosing and coaching?

Thanks to all of you!

I think Weaver is being recruited as a TE.

my thoughts. you can not turn down camp. when your scheme is to put your corners on a island, the dl has to get good pressure, narduzzi knows we need to be much better in this area.

on the wr's, narduzzi is in a tight spot, lots of bodies but not enough playmakers. i think what he was thinking, winfree and a freshman could contribute year 1(the one additional guy added or flowers). on the other side and iv'e mentioned several times, that is a lot of bodies at that position. i think he knows some guys will be moving on from that position.

Agree, Camp is a priority, WR's add and subtract for that position will take care of itself some will move on.

Definitely need Camp he is ready to play next year

I think Hargrove & Wheeler both will need to redshirt to put on muscle/weight then they will be ready in 2017

Watts & Camp could both potentially start if they earn it, both have the skill & mass to do such in the system

They aren't in a position to turn down anyone if the staff feels they're talented. I understand there has to be some balance but the guys being discussed have to be taken if they want to be Panthers unless the numbers dictate that it's just not possible.

Plus guys get converted all the time. O'Neil went from tight end to a starting OT in what felt like abt 3 weeks.

Bring in the talent and it will sort itself out.

I do completely agree with this, and it was good Old panther pointed out Weaver as a TE... I just think as we get a better team and more recruits nationally are looking at Pitt, we are going to be in a situation where we need to just have slots, and fill those slots in recruiting, then be what may. I think PSU thought like this, and that is why they offered too many too late, thinking Jimmy boy was a recruiting genius, but didnt plan for the mass defections and bad seasons on the field, now they are scrambling.

We have many WR that have shown very little. I had high hopes for many of them, got the speedster Weah, the all around guy in Zeise, the possession guy in Challingsworth, the scat back type in Henderson... we have many types there, just need production. That being said, I still dont think we need 4 more this year. i like all 3 we are bringing in.

neal has been a very good player. no waiting, out of the gate, he's ready to go. even at just 1 year, i would take him without a doubt. some may want to wait until the miller, hamlin, pine and other situations play out. i would not wait, i would take him right away.

Seems to be shaking out to down to those 2. Maybe add illinois transfer?

Several WRs from the current roster will be moving on. Far too many questionable takes there over the years. Many of whom were praised all over this site.

What is the Pine situation? The kid has said over and over his is 100% Pitt. Sounds as likely of a flip as Sanders is.

Our coaches are putting the full court press on for Camp, Wallace and Salomon. I guess they didn't read your post that we don't need those players.

By the way-never confuse quantity with quality. We have a lot of receivers on the roster but none have stepped up and distinguished themselves where we were desperate for a #2. You can't have enough quality players in your defensive front. You need more than just a couple of solid starters. And we don't have an explosive receiver on the roster or in this class. Winfree is as close as we have to that but he's not the kind of difference maker the coaches are looking for to take our downfield passing game up a notch or two. Thus the intense push for that player in the bottom of the 9th. Hopefully we get Camp and Salomon and of course Hamlin. Wallace is a Buckeye lock. Hang onto Miller. This class could end up being stacked. Fingers crossed.

Wow, do you think coaches read message boards before discussing strategies? I hope not for sure.

I agree, we should take any 4 star that may come our way, but also agree if we have like 15 scholarship wide receivers, we need to ask some to leave. We do have 2 four star wr and Ffrench, who was just offered by ups, so unless we think one may flip or one of these 2 guys is a cant miss, maybe we think one of the 3 we have is going to flip? Any word on any of that happening?

Camp, Hamlin and keeping Miller sounds great to me. The class is stacked more than any since maybe Wannstedt era
