Recruit R.Weaver(think that is his name) told that a ship would probably not be available, offered PWO staus or go to Prep school. Weaver verballed 7 months ago and was just advised less than 2 weeks before letter of intent day. Early signing period may have been benificial for this young man.

Recruits have to realize it is a two way game. They can verbal and decommit at anytime..until there is an early signing period let's not be hypocrites..we'd all be happy if Duzz scrapped any 2 stars for 4-5 stars. It is a dirty business and when people like milk dud whine about negative recruiting it makes it all the more ridiculous

I agree but that's not what he's doing,he waits till the last mintute or with the OL that decommitted he wouldn't even talk to him till several days later by the OL coach,it's dirty

The kid had almost no contact for 7 months and he's just now figuring out they are not interested anymore? Some time in those 7 months he should have been more proactive. Or did I read this wrong?

Either way recruiting is a two way street, it's a dirty business on both sides.

It sucks. Kids got to be smart. Unfortunately college sports represents the WORST in society. Pro Sports is so much more above the board and ethical. (I am being 100% sincere when I am saying this). So....the kids need to feel out their recruiting process and always keep doors open.

That being said, doesn't make it right and you hope karma comes a calling.

Harbaugh is a recruiting machine. The future is bright in Ann Arbor.
I think Harbaugh having been a Head Coach in CFB & NFL, as raised by his Coaching Father, and returning to Alma Mater proved he is a Great Coach that knows all aspects of coaching at a Top Ten CFB Program with Top Ten History of Winning! His Brother is just as good too! Recruits see it too, and Players are coached up, and winning 10 Games this year was expected and predicted the day he became Head Coach at Michigan., even with many doubts I had with many Great Posters on the Lair.

We need to see it from Narduzzi and Franklin to keep up with all their coaching challengers in the ACC & Big Ten.

He's scum that's all anyone needs to know, pure scum
Maybe, but no contact for 7 months, dah. Harbaugh Harbaugh has played in the league, coached in the league and built Stanford back up. He will be a force at UM and the only competition will be OSU and MSU. The rest will be playing for 4th place.

Of course you would find this to be perfectly fine. If it is was up to you, schools would shut down their Med and Law schools to build more weight room facilities. You are a jock sniffer to the highest order. Why don't you follow Pro Football more? At least the business is about the business.

I do enjoy pro football more.

I'm not a jock sniffer, just a fan of the game. Its your University presidents and leadership that have allowed this to become a big business. Its not my fault if they have blurred the lines between athletics and academics.

Harbaugh isn't getting paid the big bucks to keep promises to recruits or not step on feelings. He's paid to win and win big. He is simply doing what is in the best interest of Michigan football. Exactly the same thing he was trying to do months ago when he gave the offer.

It's no biggie. This kid will land on his feet.

BTW, Your post makes no sense. Any big time college football program funds itself, the rest of the athletic department, and also puts money back into the academic coffers.

why would the schools with the hammer want a early signing period? they don't.

this is nothing new. saban has done this many times at bama and he's got the rings coming out the wazoo. heck, saban has a group of over 30 people that the only thing they do for the university is related to bama football. the payroll for these 30 people is over 3 million per year. then you actually have the football staff payroll.

this is only the tip of the iceberg, its going to ramp up more. the money keeps getting bigger and bigger. the greed gets bigger and bigger. the competitive coaches are looking for tiny edges now more than ever.

Looks like the player handled that with tremendous class. Seems like a good young man and some team is going to be very happy to have him on their team.
Yep, and motivation to prove others wrong on them can be a mighty fine trait that will benefit them and their Team and University! At the same time, others have pointed out recruiting is and always will be a Two Way Street! Coaches have limited scholarships and they have to choose what they want too, and sometimes they can't give one or change their own mind.

Bernie Kosar wanted to come to Pitt more than any Program, but Foge only had 16 Scholarships that year and they were all gone, and Bernie ended up in Miami and went on to big things! Foge went back to being a Superb DC later as always.

Harbaugh was brought in to win the B1G and compete for the NC. He's playing it like the SEC does for a reason. Because that's what they want him to do!
