after listening on radio and
having read some interesting
thoughts by poster's, here are
some thoughts.

1. The wing. As DT and others
have said, we look weak there.
Sibande is more of a 2 IMO,
but we need him back healthy.
I was hoping that maybe
Oladapo and Payton might
help. Obviously wanted to
hear that Jeffers stepped up.

2. Hugley. It's early for him.
He's still learning, missed a
year of development, but I
believe he'll develop and
become a force. How soon?

3. Backcourt. Femi seems to
be improved and as good as
expected. Horton, hopefully
better, but probably similar
to last year. Sibande, Burton,
we need em both back soon.

4. Frontcourt. It just has to be
better than last year. We now
know that Gueye starts and
isn't just a backup to Hugley.
If either get in foul trouble, can
Amadason or Oladapo help?
Collier?...I've never thought
much of him.

5. Depth. Many of us (myself
included) thought we had more
depth. We do in the backcourt
assuming Sibande and Burton
get back. We have numbers at
forward and wing, but is there
anyone who can step up? Again,
Jeffers?

Just some early thoughts without
seeing them in game time.

I think Pitt has a legit 5 ACC level players: Femi, Horton, Sibande, Gueye, Hugley. It is to be determined just what level of ACC they are but with those 5, we at least have a chance to be somewhat decent depending how they play.

Off the bench, I think Jeffress and Burton could be ACC-level reserves. After that, I'm not sure we have anyone.

Can't hurt this might be the weakest ever ACC from top to bottom but still expecting a brutal year.

Minutes played last night (somewhat distorted because of Nike injury)

Horton. 31 - Nike. 9
Odukale 28 - Ezeakudo. 12
Jeffress. 21 - Santos. 17 - Frisch 2

Gueye. 27 and Hugley 25. - 52 minutes
Payton. 9 - Olidapo. 8 - Collier. 7 - Amadasun 5

A healthy Nike and Burton impacts top set not bottom

I think we don’t know who our #3 and #4 bigs are yet.

The ACC keeps getting worse and worse. It is one reason I expect 6-7 wins. I know this sounds crazy, but Pitt is only 1-2 players away from being 6th or 7th, the league is that bad. Its quite maddening that Capel hasn't been able to find enough talent to compete in this garbage league.

The thing with Pitt is, the league is so bad, they have a theoretical chance to win any game they play. There very few guaranteed losses. So they're going to win 5, 6, 7 games.

My choice for backups (based on not much of anything at this point) Max at the 5 and Payton at the 4.

mabe around 8 minutes for Max and around 20 for Payton.
