Here's a sobering thought for you all:

Good luck, Moe. You'll love when you'll be able to see clearly and colors actually exist. I had it done 13 years ago and it's one of the best things I've ever done. Hang in there.
Appreciate it. I'm looking forward to seeing things more clearly. Haven't played golf in quite awhile as I couldn't follow the flight of the ball when I was able to see it well enough to hit it

I have cataract surgery tomorrow, and I am looking forward to that more than watching the second half
At least you watched the first half. I learned with this team not to watch first halves. And if I check the score and it’s ugly, I then avoid the 2nd half.

So…if you had LASIK in your life is cataract surgery different?

A lot different. Cataract surgery is physically removing the lens in the eye and replacing it with a new lens. Lasik is just making incisions/cuts in the cornea surface to allow better focus on the retina.

Had it last week . Ten minute operation and in weight. Before surgery I was 20-50. Had it last week. The day after I was 20-20. Unfortunately I can’t get it done on the other eye due to a retina surgery and cornea issue. Make sure you use the drops for four weeks after the surgery. Damn auto tune should read in a twilight not in weight. Good luck- very common procedure even for old dudes like me.

poconopanther - I am in my '70's so I qualify as an old dude, too. Surgery went fine; will see how the next 24 hours go. Lubricating eye drops to the rescue! It was weird to be awake and alert during the procedure but I felt zero pain

I have my left eye scheduled in two weeks provided nothing went wrong with the first one. I'll reply back to this after a week to let those who are interested know what to expect. Good luck with yours
mine won't be for decades but thanks

are you doing the other for near also? depending on how your first focal point and range results finalize could influence the target for the other imo, among other things

Glad your surgery went well. Yes, they have to put you in a semi-awake state so you can move your eye up and down, left and right. It's weird when you really think about it. But you're in la-la land anyhow, so you won't care.

Take care with the eye drops for the next few weeks. That's important. It helps the healing. Before you know it, you'll have both eyes done and seeing like you remember you used to see.

It will change your life. And the surgery isn't anything to worry about.

Strictly opinion. Before surgery you know your vision is bad — dirty window effect, glare and lack of depth. but with the new lenses — taDAAaa— it’s like in the Wizard of Oz when the film switches from BW to color. Amazing transformation.

I'll attest to that. When I had mine done and could see the clock across the room and watch TV without glasses and vivid colors were popping out, it changed my life.
Curious to know if you (or others that had cataract surgery) noticed some floaters and cloudiness on the new lens post-surgery? I have a follow-up visit with my eye doc later today so I'm sure he'll let me know that it's normal. But just wanted to ask those who've had this surgery how long it takes before you "see" total results? Thanks!

I had some floaters before the surgery and the surgery didn't affect that. The cloudiness will go away over time. I'd say after you've had both eyes done, you'll see total results within 2 weeks, if I remember right. It could be less than that. Have to give your eyes time to heal and adjust to the new lenses.

As I recall it was 3-4 months before my vision stabilized. I have retinopathy as well, and that causes floaters. Now I see 20/20 and 20/25 and have for several years. Glare reman San issue at times. I wear shades outside Al out all of the time in daylight hours.
