USC wins when they have the right coach. John McKay had no problem competing with the Rams. USC won 5 National Championships in the 60s and 70s, and the Rams were very good most of that time. Get Herman in there, and watch them start to roll again.USC was a powerhouse while the Rams were also in L.A. back in the 60's and 70's., if the Trojans aren't successful it won't be because of the Rams returning.
If/when Jimmy gets the boot or runs away (if he can find a place to run to as a HC), look for Matt Ruhle to the nits. They are not getting a successful P5 HC to step into that situation at this time. And Ruhle could well turn out to be Al Golden, part deux: former nit player; Temple HC.
As far as Richt, he is a Miami alum and the timing with him getting canned by UGA worked out for him and the U.
You are spot on correct. There's no comparison between PSU and LSU. You can win national championships at LSU. PSU is a totally lost program.
Saban and Meyer? In Creepy Valley? Goodness. What's in the H these cats are taking? It's funny, there's been a thread up on BWI where they discuss who would be their next coach if they dump Franklin.
A few mentioned Herman, but many more thought that Saban or Meyer were legitimate options.
The delusions still run rampant over there. At least one guy mentioned he wished they would've had a shot at Mark Richt. To me that would be the absolute top they could expect, I'm still surprised Miami was able to land him.
PS's new staff according to BWI.Saban and Meyer? In Creepy Valley? Goodness. What's in the H these cats are taking?
That is what I said. Graham will try and sneak in if LSU misses on top targets. You can bet on these types of things offshore. Herman is the heavy favorite to become the next LSU head coach at -105. Jimbo Fisher at +250 is the only other one even close to that.
Our old friend Todd Graham is 40-1.
