He's ready to be a head coach': Rutgers assistant Brandin Knight helping lift Scarlet Knights

I just wish he had like a couple of year of leading Monmouth, but hey, we seen Jamie take over without being a HC and being successful. One thing I do believe, he could help sell Pitt better than even Capel.
Jamie took over a fully rebuilt program that was in great shape from his mentor.

That’s a slightly different situation than stepping into this mess as a rookie HC.

Bullshit. You could have said the same thing about Jamie. Brandin would be such an improvement over Capel it's not even funny.
Not sure how clueless one would have to be to not see what was different about Dixon taking over at Pitt when and how he did versus BK taking over this Pitt program.

It’s astonishing actually.

That’s what I’ve been wondering. Has he even been considered/interviewed? Genuine question as I don’t know. If he was so great you’d think the lower level teams would be coming for him.

He also cannot even get an Associate HC job. He is 3rd chair at Rutgers. He may be an excellent HC but would be an enormous gamble. The fact his career hasn't advanced in 10 years is a huge red flag. If he is hired, it has to be with conditions such as go hire the best staff in college basketball.

Dude all I'm saying is BK would be an upgrade over awful Capel and right now that's good enough for me.

I very much doubt that he would.
So you're saying under Knight we'd be this bad in year 4, have lots of players leave, get arrested, late season collapses huh? That's ridiculous. Even if you don't think highly of him as a coach I would bet he would have a much more competent staff that would definitely help than what Capel has assembled.

You're missing the point. It's because he's had to face high levels of instability that makes him a suitable candidate. Year in and year out. hisgood players move up and out and he has to reload, which he's done well. Dude can coach defense. and plays fast.
But when he has those superior players that other teams end up poaching he doesn’t win either. Guy has no business coaching in the ACC when he’s not winning consistently 2 levels (at least) below. Absolute non candidate.

Yeah, I think all things considered he's done an OK job where he's at, but I can't see how you could think that anything that he's done would make him a serious contender for an ACC job.

Let alone a full ground up rebuild. This job is gonna require somebody who has done that before and sustained it, realistically from a mid major level.
