Capel has brought in quality players and I am excited for this season. A winning season will go a long way towards getting the recruits every one wants. If Davis really wanted to play for a winner, it would close the gap if we were a bubble team than 3-15. We will get there. I honestly think a win against FSU in the opener would go a long way to finishing out this class and maybe snagging a November signee.
PSN also adding a Michigan State decommit to Capel's target area. There's reason for some hope.
What would be a reach? Nearly all of the players Capel has signed have been more highly rated than all of Stallings players per 247, except Carr (144). Though Johnson has far exceeded Carr. Amadasun is clearly a reach, but we can't rotate 13 players a night. I think some/most of us are scarred by Stallings two years. BB can be a quick turn around especially with a passionate coach. Stallings first year is a tourney team under Capel. The latter would have recruited just enough to make it so.
Capel's players are, generally speaking, not reaches. They're not all 4 star players but they're a vast improvement over what came before.
The c/o 2018 was all incredibly highly recruited and had multiple P5 offers each.
2019 - Drumgoole was a prize that everyone wanted. Coulibaly had at least a few P5 offers and anecdotally would have had more but he was firm on us early and shut his recruiting down. Champagnie had mostly mid-major offers but he's a higher ranked guy than most pre-Capel forward recruits like Stevenson.
2020 - Everyone wanted Hugley. Collier had several P5 offers. Amadasun is by far our lowest rated recruit of the Capel era but you do that for guys who are 6'10" and athletic.
Recruiting is by far better than it's been in many years.

Because of Larry Nassar? That’s weak. He doesn’t cheat. It’s why Apple Jackson, yes that’s what Josh’s mother calls herself, stormed out of the office when Josh was trying to commit. I find it hard to believe he wouldn’t pay for him but he’ll pay for others.
Given what we’ve seen in college sports, I think it’s naive to assume MSU is squeaky clean.
Jalen Terry is looking for a payday. We’re not gonna be involved with him. Whitt is much more likely and much more needed as a true PG

Absolutely no one is squeaky clean at that level, but Izzo has a reputation for doing things the right way. They are exceptionally good at identifying their type of player and building them up. For all the attention that UK, and now Memphis, gets give me guys like Izzo and Jay Wright all day.
Dan Dakich is an assclown. If he thinks Izzo cheats, that’s confirmation he doesn’t.
