Home and home with ucf

Makes sense with all the Florida Players we are getting. Plus, much better than the YSU's of the world.

Very Nice - Good for recruiting and it works well for me since we have family in the area.

Well, ACC only requires 1P5, and obvious Pitt staying with the annual fcs and mac(etc). So I figured sometimes that last spot could go either way. And sometimes only 6 home games.
And next 3 years no clem,fsu,ville. (ncst,wake,bc)

It's a catch 22 and people will spin it either way. Sets us up nicely in 2019 to win an awful lot of games. Also I think wvu comes the following year so maybe sales aren't as bad as people buy tix for the wvu game in 2020.
Also as many have said, I love the Florida recruiting angle.

The downside is that 2019 home slate is really bad. No way to spin that. That said this could be a Washington type year for us. Run the table and make noise for once...

Assuming PN is here 2019 is shaping up to be a top 10 finish. That alone will draw the yinzer crowd to Heinz.

Probably not. No yinzer is going to watch Ohio or Central Florida. Or Boston College. Or Delaware (Joe Flacco night). Miami will be the only chance to draw a decent crowd. Too bad it will probably be scheduled for the day after Thanksgivng.

Pitt went to UCF in 2006 and won handily on a Friday night, but was never re-payed the visit as I recall.

Check out @McMurphyESPN's Tweet:
Well, I guess Barnes' edict of not playing G5 on the road has gone by the wayside. Games in Florida are always good for recruiting, plus good road game trips.

I dont understand why you would proclaim no road games at G5's then a year later schedule one. If you are so sure, dont say it.

I do think there are several G5s which warrant a home and home.

Cincy
Temple
Navy
USF
UCF
Boise State (though i know everyone is scared of them)
UNLV (vegas trip would be fun)

That's probably it.

I'd rather play those schools than Purdue, Minnesota, Iowa State, etc

UCF backed out to take a beat down at O$U for more $$$. Left us in a bind and I think that's why we ended up agreeing to a home and home with FIU. I like this series getting inked (though I would have preferred USF). I just hope they agreed to a HUGE buyout of they pull that crap again.

I attended that game in Columbus and it was no beat down.
31-16 was the final and if UCF had a QB even slightly mobile it would have been closer.
But I'm sure OSU paid much better.

He's not our AD any more, remember?
A previous AD, can't recall his name, once proclaimed that henceforth, Pitt would be "Pittsburgh" and would never wear Script again. Another AD brought back the Pitt, but then gave us a cockeyed seal as a logo. And all of them stand at podiums straight faced and say that there is no better job, and the goal is a championship.

I like a game at UCF. A small stadium so good seats for all.

Also, it will likely be quite hot in Orlando then. So it will be great to stand outside sweating in the direct mid-day sun.

Hope for a night game.

Or have UCF come here first....

I was thinking the same exact thing. But then I realized, it was Barnes that said that. So I guess we threw that out the window.

What I'm sick of is FCS games. Nothing to gain, everything in the world to lose. Pitt can never afford another Youngstown loss, and that team is becoming really good. Not to mention an fcs team wins every year somewhere it seems now. Schedule a G5 team that can't even win a game in their own conference to start the season, ditch these FCS games.

It seems Iowa managed to make a good bowl even though they lost to an FCS team.

Just about everyone has these fcs games.
Frankly, I had a blast at the Delaware game a few years ago.

As far as a one and done with a weak mid major, they are usually too expensive for Pitt.
