Hamlin did not play, Mathis had good coverage. Stocker shouldn't see any snaps except special teams with his play

Not much good. But one positive thing is that the corners seemed to have more awareness of the pass coming their way. Turned and broke up passes on occasion.

Still beaten way too often and easily though. And this was against garbage.

And Briggs is laughingly tiny. Honestly, you see him struggling to keep up out there, bouncing harmlessly even off these weak 1-AA guys, and the absurdity of the program, suspending its best player for absolutely nothing, knowing it forces this chihuahua into the lineup with two NFL offenses looming, hits painfully home.

Yeah. At least the DBs are kind of at the mercy of the lousy pass rush in this system. The LB are just unspeakable.

Some of the DB's looked small, and the ones that didn't look small looked slow and/or often out of position.

Jackson had a good game, but as a whole (including linebackers), the pass defense looked clueless. Guys running around wide open all over the place.

Safeties were very shaky-all of them. Corners looked OK but this was YSU. They weren't really tested. Definitely seem to have communication and recognition problems at both safety spots. Weak would be the word to describe our safeties. Need Whitehead back yesterday.

The good thing is these next two weeks aside, our competition in terms of opposing QBs/WRs particularly in the ACC is lesser than it was last year. No more Trubisky, Evans, Kaaya, Watson.

But yea... pretty discouraging to see some struggles against YSU, especially on that damn wheel route.

Base D all day. They will continue to get killed if they insist on leaving LBs in to cover anyone.

Agree with some that the CBs were better and the safety play was weak. But, there was very little pass rush all day.
