How many old timers are in here? How old were you in January 1977?

Well this topic finally got me to respond to a message. I was 49.
I graduated from Central Catholic in 1945.
.I spent a few years ln the navy and graduated in1950.with a chemical engineering degree.
I saw a lot of terrible football in the 50s and 60s. It was really bad. . Pitt stadium was a dump. thank god it is gone. No amount of renovation could bring it to looking good. The national championship was a godsend.
Wow, I was 32, married with 2 little girls. There aren't too many on here in your category, sir. You've seen it all. I hope we get #10 for you.

Thanks for the boost. I'll be 89 in August, and follow every game every week. There is always hope.

I turned 71 in March. When I read your post I thought "this guy gets it." It's so true when you say "There is always hope." That's something that some young people don't get.

I was 19 and life was great! Hot Pitt co-ed's. 25 cent draught beers at SOD. Pitt wins a National Championship. Tony Dorsett. Steelers Champions. Mean Joe. Jack Splat. Pirates World Champs. Chicken on the Hill with Will. Roberto. You wonder why us old timers are nostalgic for the good old days? Pretty simple....things were honestly better (at least from a Pittsburgh sports perspective).[/QUOTE. Roberto died in in 1972!!
