Realizes what other teams are doing to him.
He likes going small shifting Mike Young to C and bringing in Sheldon Jeter at PF.
The thing is, other teams are seeing this in the films and they are prepared for it, sending in their biggest bigs, if they got big biggs, and jamming the ball down our throats inside. This happened against Ville and happened again against NCS.
Against ND, our best game of the season, Young picked up 3 quick fouls at the end of the first half and this turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as Young sat the first 10 minutes of the second half and Maia, played 32 minutes.
I really don't know what it is gonna take for Dixon to wake up to reality and realize he CAN'T continue to always go small or other teams are gonna jam the ball down our throats as well. The obvious response on Dixon's part, is to go COMPLETELY with Maia, Nelson-Ododa and Luther at C.... except in situations where going small with Young at C, is to our advantage.
If Dixon is more interested in being self-indulgent with his concepts that are NOT WORKING.. as opposed to playing winning basketball (beyond beating cupcakes)... yeah... he will end up getting himself FIRED for it... if not sooner than later. The influential alumni that sent Wannstedt on his way... must be nearing the breaking point after what they saw in the NCS game.
