Allegedly he said that on his show.If that's real, it tops anything ever said on this board by a considerable magnitude.
Colin may be the Shedeur of sportscasters, OVERRATEDAllegedly he said that on his show.
I doubt it. These guys are given their talking points by producers and whatever comes out of their mouth, so be it.Do these guys paid to talk about sports know anything about sports?
Cowherd is smart and he’s a smooth talker. But yeah, people put too much credence into what they say. They sometimes make good points and articulate them well, but they are paid to talk and entertain…and not to be looked at as experts.I doubt it. Smart isn’t a word I’d use for any of these carnival barkers .Cowherd is smart and he’s a smooth talker. But yeah, people put too much credence into what they say. They sometimes make good points and articulate them well, but they are paid to talk and entertain…and not to be looked at as experts.
Yeah, the fact we're talking about something this ridiculous is all the evidence you need.No
They are only paid to titilate
No
They are only paid to titilate
Most of these guys are just loud turds and ESPN and FSN have become versions of "The View" for sports bros.I think some of these guys genuinely are just that bad with their takes, then they do the clickbait thing with other takes just to act like that's their whole shtick. But it wouldn't surprise me one iota if he sincerely meant this. A lot of these guys' sports knowledge is that awful.
I mean we have our own local versions of clickbait mastersI think some of these guys genuinely are just that bad with their takes, then they do the clickbait thing with other takes just to act like that's their whole shtick. It’s like ESPN never understood why PTI works well is they are both veteran sports writers who really love sports .Most of these guys are just loud turds and ESPN and FSN have become versions of "The View" for sports bros.
I was thinking more of the PSN guys and prior to his mental breakdown, Dokish.I think Filliponi kind of ran with that angle out of embarrassment after some of his takes turned out to be so bad.
Peak should be next. Kamara to the NFL. Delalic to the NBA. Etc.
True. Other than games, I rarely watch ESPN programming and I listen to podcasts and Mad Dog Radio before I'll listen to ESPN radio.I remember when Lebron was thinking about leaving Cleveland and Cowherd was all over it saying he belongs in Miami or NY or LA not in Cleveland. And seeing him with Sanders, ESPN has become nothing but star ****ers. They just want the biggest names and think force feeding it to the audience is what the audience wants.
There was a terrific piece on Mario Lemieux , though about his coming out of retirement-True. Other than games, I rarely watch ESPN programming and I listen to podcasts and Mad Dog Radio before I'll listen to ESPN radio.
Remember ESPN the Magazine? Does it still exist? Basically it was Tiger Beat for sports fans. Mostly New York and LA sports fans.
Look at that list I had in the other thread. Gammons, Vitale, Babcock, Corso....all of those guys loved their games and were either coaches or reporters. It’s like ESPN never understood why PTI works well is they are both veteran sports writers who really love sports .
Their opinions can actually be shared with humor and insight .
As someone who found the old Mcafee podcast stories hilarious occasionally -
The fact he is now the face of espn says about it all with how hard it’s fallen
