I completely am empathetic to how depression and anxiety sucks away your competition and saps your energy .
If we are to believe he’s too distraught to play at a high level - I fully supported him 100% to take a break and get help .
But even if that is how it started - he stopped even sitting on the bench and cheering his teammates .

Then had to gall to now only wait until pitt plays a ncaat- to announce he’s in the portal .

He entered the portal literally at the first opportunity to do so. Yesterday (Monday) was the first day that the portal was back open. He couldn't enter it before then.
It's obvious that his plan all along was to transfer as soon as he could. The funny thing is that we had guys here just last week saying we really wouldn't know for a while what he was going to do because he wasn't going to enter the portal while "his team" was still playing, because he wouldn't want to be a distraction to them.

I don't know enough to comment on Hugley one way or the other, but curious - why was Monday his first opportunity to enter the portal? I saw a number of players enter last week, was there something preventing him from going then?
I think we need to start another thread about Hugely and how his defense would have led to a Pitt blowout last night,
He was still considering his options of Pitt Medical School or playing somewhere else.
A number of players did not enter last week. The portal wasn't open last week. It opened again on Monday. There may have been a number of players that announced last week that they were going to enter the portal, but they couldn't actually do it until Monday,
For winter sports like basketball, the transfer portal opens the day after the championship field is selected in that sport. The men's and women's championship fields were selected on Sunday, so the transfer portal opened on Monday. It is open for 60 days, which means that for basketball the portal closes on May 11.
Thanks for the details. Is there a 2nd window during the season? I'm wondering about the Villanova kid that transferred to Davidson in January via the portal. I recall that Huggy tried to get him at the time.
The windows are a new thing that they added to the rules I believe last fall. I do not know if there are any additional windows besides the one that just opened. I do know that football has two transfer windows, so it is possible that basketball does now as well.

Come on man. With all these teams that have “reached out” desperately seeking his services to provide the missing piece to a deep Ncaa run I’m willing to bet he’ll set a new record for NIL contracts After the bidding war for hugely is over.
