I’m glad OSU-Indiana isn’t on the same time as Pitt

Fox is stupid for putting this game on at noon, but then having two games fewer eyeballs want to see at 3:30 and 8.

Fox is smart for putting the game on at noon, when the competition is much less, and when they will therefore get far more people watching it.

Look at two weeks ago. Ohio State and the nitters at noon, 9.77 million viewers. Didn't have to compete with any of the 3:30 games, including Florida and Georgia with 6.97 million, or any of the night games, including Texas A&M and South Carolina with 5.56 million viewers. The next most watched nooner was Duke-Miami at 1.96 million .

I'm guessing that next year Fox works with the Big Ten to ensure there is a bigger game every week they can put on at noon, so they don't get stuck with games like Purdue-Ohio State or Nebraska-Indiana.

IU is just so fundamentally sound on offense. Everything works. Blocking, crisp routes, just very efficient.
Like I said, OSU has really good coordinators on both sides of the ball with Kelly and Knowles. As fundamentally sound as IU is on offense, Knowles knows how to adjust his defense, and Indiana is going to need to find a way to do more. I'm really interested to see what Indiana can do in the 2nd half.

OSU definitely got the upper hand latter part of that 1st half but too bad that IU punter let that snap go right thru his hands or we’d be all tied up at the half. IU gets the ball to start the 2nd, they need to regroup and get on track like their 1st drive of the game.

That last 8 points probably keeps Indiana in the top 12. Cignetti will make the case that the difference was the 2 TDs on special teams.

Wow OSU with a cheap TD. So much for sportsmanship.

I don't know what the committee will do with IU, but they don't belong in the playoffs.

Cignetti has no problems trying to run up a score. Nothing wrong with Ryan Day doing it either.

These mega conferences may have a lot of good teams. Thing is no one knows. They all play Purdue and Maryland and the like, and not each other. They have all these 0-1 loss teams who have played 1 or 2 decent teams. Then they want 5 teams in the playoff.
They're all fool's gold.

PSU is comfortably in the top 12 right now. Looking at their schedules and game scores, how can you separate PSU and IU to say IU wouldn’t be in.

About the only thing you can differentiate them on is PSU only losing by 7 at home to OSU vs IU losing by 23 at OSU.

Hey, they scored 15 pts against OSU, Oregon with 32 and Nebraska with 17 are the only 2 teams that scored more.
And just like all those other teams that Indiana scored more than, they don't deserve a playoff spot either. Except maybe the team that will end up 0-1 against the top 4 teams in their conference.

edit: I guess 1-1 against top 4 teams. I didn't think there was any way Illinois was going to score with 20 seconds left. How does Rutgers let them throw a 40-yard TD pass on 4th and 13 with 4 seconds remaining?

What do you mean they don't belong? They almost gained as many yards against OSU as Akron did.

I was looking at the scores in a commercial break at the women's basketball game and I noticed that early in the 4th quarter Indiana had a total of 80-something yards of offense. They ended up with 151, which means they got close to half of their total yards for the game in the 4th quarter after they were already behind 31-7.

For all Cignetti's bravado, I found it hilarious that his clown ass was content to bleed clock with 10 minutes to go in the game when he was down 31-7. That was borderline pathetic.
