but there is no way on god's green earth that the Pitt basketball team would have beaten Iowa on any court and under any circumstances this year. We would give our eye teeth for a performance like they had tonight. It kills me to say that, but we don't have a win close to the win they had tonight. Just something to think about.

What exactly was stupid about it? Or are you just being a giant dick as usual?
They are 4-9 in the big 10, 20-65 under Chambers since he became coach, and just got blown out by Nebraska last week. Their body of work indicates they are much closer to being a very bad team than a very good one. For as much as JD has been blasted, his worst year at Pitt is just as good if not better than any year Chambers has had at PSU.
All I said is that there is no way this Pitt team would have beaten Iowa this year. I didn't say PSU was anything close to a very good team. But if you think this Pitt team is any closer to being a good team than a bad team, I have some very sad news for you.

Iowa CRUSHED them at their place the other week. Would you give your eye teeth for that performance or the other ass kicking they have taken in the big 10 this year? I'll take our year over their year but that's just me.
Mid week game at a 70% empty building in the middle of no where. Yeah I'm sure Iowa was just fired up about this one. As for a win close to this I'll take our win at Notre Dame. When the nits go on the road and get a win like that then I'll be impressed. If the nits were go great they wouldn't be playing out the string now would they? Just something to think about.

Dude, NC State crushed us at our place. So did UVa. UNC crushed us at their place. So did Louisville. Laughing at PSU because they were crushed by Iowa at Iowa is stupid and pathetic in comparison and response.

We are far from a very good team, but our body of work both over the years and this year would indicate we are better than they are. 7-6 vs 4-9 in like conferences is not really close. I guess I don't see where this win is any better than the Notre Damw win on the road or any loss Pitt has is as bad as psu getting blown out by Nebraska, Duquense and Radford.
They haven't been, but you also have to take into account that one was a home game and one was a road game. I still think beating Iowa at home is a better win than beating Notre Dame at their place, but it is certainly a close thing.
Anything can happen in any game. Drawing anything from one game, or even a handful of games, tells you nothing.
I'm not sure why you think I'm saying PSU is better than Pitt. I never said that. What I said was that this Pitt team this year could never put together the kind of effort it would take to beat a team like Iowa. And no, Notre Dame is not even remotely close to as good as Iowa.
Notre Dame has lost one.... exactly one... home game this year.
UNC couldn't win there. Louisville couldn't win there.
Pitt is the only team that has won there this year.
ND is one game out of first place in the ACC.
ND is as good, or better than Iowa... rankings notwithstanding.

The Notre Dame-Iowa game was NOT played AT Iowa. It was a tournament game played in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Your link provided that information.

In fairness, using the head to head result of Iowa vs Notre Dame is infinitely more relevant than extrapolating what PSU did to Iowa into what Pitt would or wouldn't hypothetically do and what it says about Pitt compared to PSU.
Both are largely irrelevant when it comes to drawing conclusions, and really only applicable if you're pushing an agenda, but one of those stances is exceptionally facile -- even for a Nitter posting on a rivals' message board.
