Great win for the Steelers last night. But did anyone see Ron Cook's article? He flat out said Vick outplayed Rivers! What the hell game was he watching? As much as he hates Pitt it was good to see him write something positive about the Steelers, but my god he really is dumb. Rivers lit the Steelers up, Vick played pretty bad aside from one huge pass and leading the Steelers to game winning drive.

Vick did look good on the last drive. but he sure didn't outplay Rivers.

I have to admit, cynical Ron Cook is a complete Steeler fanboy.
Like I said, I'm a Steelers fan too, but what he said was just totally inaccurate. Gruden said the Steelers should've though about Landry Jones! 3/4 of the game Vick was really, really bad.

"Lit Up" ??? Uh,no, that's a bit much. But he was better than Vick, of course he's started the last 160 games for that team.
Look at his passing yards. Had a heck of a game, and I'm one that thinks Philip Rivers is extremely overrated. Not a bad QB, but to compare him with the guys some people compare him with is just laughable.

He had a lot of yards but he had 48 pass attempts and only put 20 points on the scoreboard.

Well from San Diego's viewpoint that's clearly not good to score 20. From Pittsburgh's viewpoint though, not good when you give up 300+ passing yards.

Well, he actually put 27 on the scoreboard. 7 of them were for the Steelers though, for a net of 13. :)

Cook is playing to the yinzer crowd, if not he'd be shown the door. The steelers are sacred here and have to watch what you say or you might get a shank in your kidney.

This is the same Ron Cook who forgot that Pitt plays Syracuse in 2 weeks and said the game doesn't count (maybe just messing with Poni, but sounded like he was trying not to sound like a complete idiot), because Syracuse is awful. Never mentioned any of the teams Penn State has played. You want to see an awful team, look up and down Penn State's schedule minus a couple of games, they're all terrible.

Cook is a Steelers lap dog. Vick outplayed Rivers for the last 3 minutes of the game, Rivers didn't have the ball. Cook has also said what a great wide receiver Brown is over and over again, MVP and the teams best offensive player. How good has he been without Ben throwing to him. Cook is like some of the coaches getting out of the game, too old to realize how bad he is.

Exactly why I say Ben is MVP. Brown is an outstanding talent. But he's not getting the ball without an all-pro throwing it to him. Steelers are very, very luck to be 1-1 with Michael Vick. He is well past his prime. When Gruden mentioned Landry Jones I started to think a little, but then quickly realized... well, it's Landry Jones for god's sake.

Vick is barely getting by in that offense. He's missing wide open guys all over the field. I sat in the end zone during the Ravens game and tried to give the benefit of the doubt because it was a short week. But sitting and watching Monday night, he still isn't going through his progression. Think about what a good QB should do to a defense that is sitting in man with one deep? Vick is really accurate sometimes but mostly, he looks lost to me.

Real hero of that game is the OL and Bell. He's a pretty special talent.
