Best half of defensive football in the Narduzzi era.
I wish we had this D in those games against Mason Rudolph.
This defense really flies to the ball. Best speed in a long time.

It's amazing what can happen when Pitt can keep a coach long enough to get his players in the system.

I don’t think anyone would argue about the defensive improvement. Offense is still a huge issue. They have been pretty bad again tonight as this game should be about 40-3.
I’d agree with that. Looking at the overall team though, mainly the roster, there’s way more depth and athleticism on both sides of the ball. The offense just hasn’t been finishing drives enough so far this season.
Defense I’d agree. On offense...I’d say we are not anywhere as talented as we were when pat took over. We have put up 26 points tonight but it has not been a great offensive performance.
realism. Has the offense been good the last 3 years? It is better this year, Pickett has been way better, but this is a pretty ugly performance tonight.

I think we had a better o-line and running backs when Pat took over, but those were the only positions with depth. Boyd was a great receiver, but I think we potentially have more depth there now (although a lot of underachievers at the moment). The big thing though is QB depth, Chryst was a QB guru and left Pat with basically nothing but Voytik.
All in all, I’d say yeah that starting offensive lineup was probably better, although with Voytik who knows. I would definitely rather have this year’s Kenny Pickett. I think the offensive depth still might be better now, but the talent amongst the top offensive performers i’d agree probably isn’t as good.
