I can't believe that Barnes has successfully united the Pitt basketball fans (Fire Dixons and Love Dixons) into hating him as AD.

Let's review the facts, shall we. Jamie wanted to leave, and he left.
We were then in the position of needing to hire a replacement.
Of the dozens of quality candidates around the country that would jump at this job.... our "basketball minded" AD chose a candidate that Pitt fans are unanimous in their displeasure over that decision.
Unanimous.
Pitt fans were never this unanimous over Steve Pederson, for chrissakes.
But they're unanimous over this hire.
And #FireScottBarnes will be trending for the next three years if he goes through with this.

I probably will, even though I feel petty and stupid talking about it. Was a season ticket holder in football and basketball from the early 80's until I moved away in 2002.
Since I moved have given an annual 4 figure donation, and by four figures I mean the smallest 4 figure amount there is. That being so, I have basically given Pitt most of my income tax refund each year, and have never even really thought about it until now. It's just a habit.
Maybe Im being way over emotional about it, but the potential Stallings hire has me more upset than anything the administration has done in many, many years.

Glad I was sitting down reading this. I was figuring a mistake if made was trying to find the up and comer not this . Just horrible words can not describe it ( if it's true ).
In golf I always love it when people say I can't do any worse . Well yes you can . Barnes embrassed himself here. The only worse hire he could have done was find Paul Evans and bring him back for Paul Evans 2!
Poker has been one of the most adamant about making a change. He should be forced to watch every game of the Stallings era.
In defense of poker ( and I find it hard to believe I feel this way ) no one could ever have thought the hire could be this horrible.
In defense of JD I often said that no one truly knows what the administration wants and is willing to commit to winning. This gives you a little insight can anyone envision anything ,but a move to the bottom of the ACC with this hire. Where's the imagination ,the daring ,the vision in this hire . Pathetic
