Now... Providence, Butler, St. Bonaventure all won tonight... and Washington looks like they'll win. But Alabama lost and Oregon State is getting hammered.

It will be very hard to manufacture a scenario where at least 9 of those teams surpass Pitt, if Pitt wins one more game. We might conceivably still make it with 2 losses - though it will be nail-biting time at that point.

Likely the only team on that list that jumped over Pitt tonight was Providence.

Providence was a lock, assuming they got past DePaul and St Johns, they didn't even need the Creighton game. Which was why I mentioned their 43% to make the tournament was ridiculous, as there was a 75% chance of them winning both those games, and that wasn't even including possible wins in the Creighton or 1st round conference tournament game. Your bubble watch is awesome, but those will/won't percentages are done by people that have no knowledge of gambling or probable expectations. Look at what they had Pitt before and after the Duke game. Pitt was even money in that game, but with that win their percentage to make the tournament jumped 30%?

That being said you are exactly correct about calming people's fears about making the tournament. A win and they are obviously in, with 2 more losses they probably still are, albeit in Dayton.

This team has no consistency.
Whats worse the team has no default game that they can go to when things aren't going great so they can put up so decent numbers giving them a chance to win.
It seems like there's no "bottom" to how bad they can get.
IMO last night was a record setting bad performance!

I think I disagree. I think we have to win against GT to have a better than .500 ACC record and 20 D-1 wins. The St. Josph's win doesn't count.

Maybe winning a first round ACCT game to give us 20 D-1 wins and a .500 overall conference recrord might get us there but adding two bad losses at the end of the season knocks us out IMHO.
