Is anything more douchie Miami than

Most Cane fans around me looked liked little punk wanna be rappers but weren’t yapping at the mouth too much by the 3rd quarter when they knew they were in big trouble. They sure were running their traps in the first quarter though. Just glad their team got bitch slapped by the best Pitt performance all year.

I don't see a problem with it; it's a fun little trophy to hype up the players and fans. I think anyone that takes umbrage at it needs to remove the stick from his or her ass.

I have no problem with the chain. It is fun. I have a problem with many Cane fans. Obnoxious, rude, trashy. Not all of them, but too high of a percentage. Keep wearing that circa 1986 orange and green Canes jacket. I'm sure it will be cool again at some point.

the thick gold turnover chain? They need a white suit wearing guy with a pink t shirt giving it out
Like this guy and his asst? This is the U!

Watching alleged grown men in control booth wearing “ I chains” on the broadcast was absolutely pathetic....” Herp Durf lookit me awkward white dude wearing stoopid chain “

So glad Pitt kicked their ass.... the obnoxiousness made it all the more sweet

The ultimate would be wearing that chain while kneeling for the National Anthem! I'd love to be in a red neck bar to see the reaction! LOL!

I used to hang out at certain Steelers bars almost every week, I'd laugh my ass off at middle aged white guys getting pissed about "celebrations"... I never understood why?

The National TV loves the chain. It's a great recruiting tool for young kids knowing the cameras will be on them.

I really like it because it surely gets under the skin of middle aged white guys that hate celebrations.

huh?

I would like any other team regardless of age or race wouldnt like a gaudy gold chain being passed around.
Not sure why this is about race or even celebration, when the OP was about it's douchie-ness in comparison to Miami. I know it is difficult for you to understand anything not penn state, but it's a pretty simple concept.

A sloppy, fat, middle aged white dude in his Miami, Minny, the Moocher regaiia,, complete with plastic chain, was duking it out with a slightly younger Pitt fan on the concourse as we were leaving. A few of us interceded and pulled them apart.before teeth hit the ground. In hindsight, I regret that we had not let the Pitt fan deliver another certain bloody defeat to Miami.

No issue with the chain. The U doesn't seem to have many/any classless players either. Seems like a fun time that the players enjoy.

The chain is flashy, like the city it represents. I'd much rather see the chain, which actually celebrates a big, important play, as opposed to seeing Mike Mitchell celebrate a tackle 10 yards downfield. Celebrations for touchdowns, turnovers, or teams stopped on third down don't bother me. Celebrations for nothing plays irks the hell out of me.

Anything that gets kids excited or motivated is great. The fact people are acting like this is a Miami invention is ridiculous.

A large part of Miami's fanbase is made up of uber douches, for sure.

miami's subway fans are like Notre Dames but with but with paler skin. I bet 80% of these faux gangstas could not locate Florida from the Georgia border.

My point is it's meaningless, it's just a FUN THING, it's harmless and hurts nobody, there's something wrong with people that have a big reaction to it either way. Just like the "douchiness" of stick up the asss old farts that get pissed off when they "don't just hand the ball to the ref".

ALL celebrations are harmless, Fans SHOULD BE HAPPY with any celebration, because at worse it means the other guy didn't score.

I think it’s silly but in a good way. It’s fun for the players and it’s not a big deal. They’re not hurting anyone.

How dare those players have fun. They should celebrate the respectable way by making a big kerfuffle on the sideline before the 4th quarter.

funny thing Crush, I laugh my ass off at grown men hanging out at Steeler bars every week.To each his own I guess..I am a middle aged white dude who is fine with the dancing and such as long as they place the ball and start the play clock. Should the Jacksonville Jags TD production of Cats run long then throw the flag for delay of game. What I would really like to see is interpretive nuanced Slovakian folk dances following 38 yard field goals since there is more time for a commercial following the kick.

All of that is OK, why do you care? I mean, get up and go to the bathroom or get a beer so you don't have to watch? The people doing it are enjoying themselves, why should you squash THEIR FUN? They EARNED it.

And what is exactly wrong with "grown men" hanging out at Steelers Bars? Don't you have to be grown to do that at any bar? I've been to a Steelers bar twice this year, the 2 times I didn't get the game on regular TV, so what? What exactly is the problem with GOING OUT AND BEING SOCIAL and watching a game?

I admit, from like 1995 to about 2010, I used to go to a Steelers bar for EVERY game, because I had a crew of about 6-8 that would meet there every Sunday, that crew kind of decimated and moved away and had kids and other things etc. So what exactly was the problem with that? No different than any other kind of social club as I see it.

why do you care?... I just said I'm ok with it as long as they do not bend the rules such that it occurs...Somehow there is not time for the third act of the Wiz featuring "ease on down the raod" after a first down play but somehow it can occur after a td sans delay penalty..like the rules being enforced, that is why I care.

My take exactly. As much as I like watching Larry Fritzgerald and Gronk, I have no problems with the celebrations. Have your fun, but do it within the rules. Play clock is within the rules.

You imagine people not like celebrations??

I never said I didnt like celebrations. I like them in fact, as long as it isnt cringy or stupid. Celebrate away I say.

...as long as it isnt cringy or stupid. ..
Who decides what's cringy or stupid.

I am actually surprised that they let it get the way it has, but like I said, this is better than flags flying and the game being artificially altered for no good reason.

But why? I don't care either way. Why does handing it to the ref make you feel better?
For the same reasons why you like what you like, it is MY personal preference. If they want to celebrate go ahead just as long as it is in the designated time.

I don't like either way anymore than the other, I feel the same whether its a gay ass pansy dance or handing the ball to the ref.
