Is the Tennessee nightmare finally over???

A guy at work was telling me he was listening to sports talk in Knoxville today and that name kept coming up but I haven’t seen it reported anywhere. At this point I’d take it for 3 years

They will be haunted by the fact that the NC was theirs for the taking if they had just let Schiano do his thing.

So, it looks like Mike Leach is the next name up for bid. He's so smart he's a little goofy, he might take this job.

Les Miles seems like a perfect fit - Leech wouldn’t be able to stomach the “environment” - but stranger things have happened.

Les has interviewed for a lot of jobs since leaving LSU, nobody wants to hire him. Hell, he couldn't even get the Purdue job.

Leach should take that job. It's the best offer he is going to get. Any other more prominent program will be able to hire a good coach with less baggage. He would be successful there. All he does is win.

He's 122 and 80 in the W/L record, with one Big 12 South Division Championship.

Because he spent the first few years rebuilding those programs. He has proven to be able to take over struggling programs and generate seasons with 9, 10 and 11 wins. At those two schools, that's a huge accomplishment. Tennessee is perfect for him and the best he (and they) will get at this point.

Leach is a good coach. No one else has won at Washington State or Texas Tech in a while.

His offenses did very well in the SEC when he was at Kentucky with Mumme. He'll just need better athletes on defense, which he should be able to get at Tennessee. There is a ton of talent in a day's drive from there.

I don't know why they wouldn't hire les miles. At this point unless they want a guy like tee Martin who they know will take the job, miles should be the next call.
