Its Vielleux

Take me a little while for him to de-nit in my mind. But I’ll get there.
Not me, to leave PsU and come to Pitt shows that he is not a cultist, just a kid looking at going to school and getting a fresh start at a good program.

I’d take Jurkovec, Veilleux, Yarnell, and Dieffenbach over Slovis, Yarnell, and Minchey if given the choice. Kudos to Cignetti.
Agree, improved the QB room which is always good.

Losing Minchey late was a punch in the gut, but they recovered nicely. Good job by the staff.

Is Duzz going to announce
there will be a competition
for the starting QB job? A
real competition, or is it a
given that Jurkovec will be
the starter?

Of course FCJ could have been winking when he said it & Phil knows how to play it publicly.

Impossible to say with any certainty. We'll see how it plays out.

I think you can pretty much pencil in Jurkovec, no matter what is said. This was clearly in the works. Cignetti knew what he had this year, and knew what he had with PJ. Decision was quick.

You've got a 6th year guy who has 2 years experience in this offense. We start out with a cupcake, then Cincy and the Hoopies. Need to be ready to go. I think PJ will be good for us.

Veilleux is good insurance against a PJ injury. He backs up and learns the offense for a year, and likely takes over the following year.

Be interesting to see what happens with Patti and Yarnell. Also, who starts the bowl game. Does Yarnell stick and compete with Veilleux?

You never know how it's going to play out, but I would think Yarnell would stay and compete going into 2024. Tbh, I'm not sure Yarnell would even have the opportunity to go to a school where he wouldn't have to compete for the starting job. His history of injury doesn't do him any favors either.

Has anyone confirmed his middle name? It wouldn't happen to be Mario. ?

I would be very surprised if Patti comes back. Why would he? I also wouldn't be surprised if Yarnell hits the portal. Maybe his decision will depend on whether he gets a chance to play in the bowl game.
