I've said it before - we should be at the very least comparable to Gonzaga

Every year that school is fighting for a top 4 seed in the tournament, nationally ranked and recruits very well. Heck even when they don't have a banner year or two in the recruiting front they do what Pitt USED to do - develop mid guys into formidable players that really can contribute. Pitt used to be imo like Gonzaga in many ways, now it's sad to say that the Zags have left Pitt in the dust. These next 3 years will be huge for this program because all we have heard is how we will have these upcoming great recruiting classes coming in and we will be back to competing realistically for a deep March run.

Why do I have a feeling that all these great players that were almost sure to come here will never materialize. Sigh... such is life when we have no one on our bench that can actually recruit anymore.(and I am not just talking about Slice)

If Gonzaga played the schedule Pitt played from 2000-2015 they would not be anywhere close to pitt. Zags are a product of a mid major schedule with a few Cinderella darling NCAA tournament wins in 15 years. That's it. I would bet $1,000 we make a final four before them

They've made it past the Sweet 16 twice in 1999 and 2015.

I'd say we ARE pretty comparable to Gonzaga, silly goose.

They've lost 12 times on the first weekend out of 17 trips to the Big Dance the past 20 years.
They've made the Sweet 16 FIVE times in 20 years.

Oh...and there is a BIG reason why they are a constant in the NCAA...they are in an AT MOST 2 bid league..

14 out of 17 times THEY WERE THE AUTOBID from the conference. 3 Times they were the At-Large Bid.

You're dumb.

I suggest you put the money in trust and make sure you make a mention of it in your will so perhaps your heirs have a chance at collecting, should the day ever come to pass. Hail to Pitt!

If you want to judge which program has been the bigger tournament disappointment I would say it is Gonzaga by far. Ultimately teams are judged not so much by their seeding, but by how many NBA players they end up producing. Gonzaga has put way more players than Pitt in the the league over the last 10-15 years, which tells me they have squandered their superior talent over and over again.
