Every college is going to have a COVID crunch with numbers. Most D1 schools are recruiting this year by ignoring the 85 scholarship limit. Not having a spot for him to make a commitment would be a triple whammy:

1 - Turning down a legacy talented enough to deserve a scholarship is bad business because we have done so poorly in this department;

2 - Amongst all programs, OL is the worst position to evaluate talent properly by far, so every program over-recruits the position…attrition balances out the screwed numbers to each class; and,

3 - Pitt needs a talent infusion because this is the worst position group on the team.

Take a quality commitment, and work out the logistics in November. Who knows, the scholarship limit may be adjusted, or attrition may work the issue out.
