One can congratulate Franklin on being funny and friendly for the children, but most Head Football Coaches are focused on Spring Ball and developing their Players into a better Team. Social Media and Easter should not be the focus at this time after two 7-6 Seasons.
Come on Captain even college coaches have to have some fun its not all work!He has to get his mind off of ND getting those three Western PA recruits.He's imagining that the Pinata is Chip Kelley!
Maybe so, but I never saw Paterno, Hayes, Bo, Majors, Sherrill, Bryant, Saban, Harbaugh, Meyer, Narduzzi, Dantonio, Ferentz, Ruhle, Fitzgerald, and other Great Coaches doing it? Kelley & Staff beat all the above on those recruits too, but I don't see Kelley doing it either?
Although Franklin can win with the talent he has recruited, being focused on his recruits, players, and team should be serious business every day. I wonder if he will blame Moorhead and Limegrover if more CC Players don't end up at PSU either?
Time to focus on Football, but maybe times are changing and he is an Innovator of a New Age? Right now i think you are correct, he is under a great deal of pressure, but is this way to release it? We shall see?

(1) JoePa, Hayes, Bo, Sherrill, et cetera ---- there were no videos on cell phones and there was no social media in their time either. For all we know, those guys WERE doing stuff like this.
(2) Franklin, even for those who don't think he is a very good football coach (I am a PSU fan who am among that bunch) --- he is a father. THAT job is important too, frankly more important than his job as Penn State football coach. If he wants to dress up as an Easter Bunny at an event for his children and their friends, all the power to him.

Having watched James for a few years, my first thought upon seeing this was that he's attempting a "Harbaugh" like, media stunt. Guess the fan base likes it but I think you're fooling yourself if you think it wasn't a stunt.

Not at all. I'm a father and think it's great. I have a friend that did the same thing to his 3 daughters this weekend. If Narduzzi did it, I would think the same. How refreshing, a dad that spends time with his kids. Nope, a publicity stunt. SMDH. I guess no one ever dresses up as Santa either? Go ask a mom what they think. My wife thought it was great that he did it.

Posnanski’s is quoted, "No One Out Worked Joe Paterno!" He admires Joe like me as a Great Coach too but had flaws some refuse to see too, and Paterno never considered himself a saint, that was a label put on him!
This is my point, whether you like it or not, Franklin is paid $4.5 Million 8th highest in FBS 129 FB Programs, Joe just $500,000, but Franklin needs to focus on being a Football Coach like I posted earlier....because Harbaugh, Meyer, Narduzzi, Dantonio, Ferentz and Rhule are doing just that without wearing "Energizer Bunny Outfits?"
