From Jerry DiPaola’s article today:
“…But now, seven ACC schools this week made noise about breaking a TV contract that lags far behind most of the other Power 5 conferences in terms of revenue.”
Why is accurate reporting on the ACC’s per team payouts (and that of the Big 12 and Pac-12) absent?
If the ACC is distributing $43M per team for. 2021-2 (as ESPN reported this week), then they are #3, and the ACC is not bringing in one quarter of what the B10 is bringing in (as Jerry wrote).
Comparing future Big 12 payouts against what the ACC paid out in 2020-1 is unprofessional. Current signs point to the ACC paying out $50M+ per school within a year or two.
I don’t think Jerry meant to deride the ACC and Pitt in this article, but he needs to do better research on the $$$ before he writes stuff like that-
