Sometimes an Article just Speaks Volumes about itself....Jerry does one better!
Excerpts:

“I like the kid at Pitt, honestly, if I had to go out there and strap it on,” Gruden said. “He’d allow us to do almost anything in the game plan. He throws the ball pretty darn good. He’s athletic and very, very sharp. A lot like (the Cincinnati Bengals’) Andy Dalton. I’d probably go with Peterman if I had to play him in a few months. “His passing mechanics, his whole demeanor. He’s buttoned up all the way. He’s sharp. I think he’s going to be a really good pro quarterback.”.................

Another Confirmation of People in The Know The difference Between High school Football, then to College football, then to NFL Football is adapting to the Speed as they all increase with many more having it as they progress from those 3 levels. They were right others that did not know now know it too.
On the importance of speed in the NFL and a prospect’s 40-yard dash time: “Speed is the one thing you can’t coach. When you’re talking about 4.25 speed (such as Washington wide receiver Joe Ross clocked at the combine), that’s hard to coach that. You have to have speed. It strikes fear in the defense. Everybody goes to the Combine with their stopwatch for a reason.”

Attitude & being smart makes Players a success in the NFL, not just pure Talent. Pryor needed a change in attitude every where he went and maybe now gets it? The Best Talent out of Western Pennsylvania since Tony Dorsett and still learning how to be a better Pro after being on 4 to 5 teams and rejected by another 7 or 8! Getting old sooner also hurts speed.
On Washington Redskins wide receiver and Jeannette native Terrelle Pryor, who worked with Gruden coming out of Ohio State:
“I really was intrigued with Terrelle Pryor. Probably one of the most interesting athletes I’ve ever seen in my lifetime. I can’t tell you how impressed I was with how he moved around, how sharp he was and how much he loved it. He’s a freak. I really have not seen many athletes come through my doors like Terrelle Pryor. Maybe he’ll play quarterback. Who knows? (laughs).”.....

There is no substitute for speed.
As told to me by those in the Pros that Know, as Gruden Confirmed and now Sharing it on the Lair with just one line to Learn it......Why High School Coaches, College Coaches, and NFL Scouts, Coaches, Trainers all carry Stop Watches!!!!

Had a big debate once and good discussions but was right all along not because i knew it, but was told by those that played, coached and oversaw the game.
