Jeter to the Irish

He is not a big loss. This is the moron who suggested that Pitt fans should respect the "legend" rape enabler Paterno? Please. We can't be living on the edge all the time hoping that some kid commits to Pitt, especially the stupid ones.

Now, for those who are going to suggest "he is just a kid" and "lay off", I could really care less what you think so spare me your nonsense.

You can say what you wish but if he goes there this is a loss. You sound like one of the Nitters after they lose someone.

I totally agree. He's not a kid, he's an adult who played Narduzzi for over a year.

This is a big loss for sure. Need to close on some of these others kids in the WPIAL.

Let's not. Let's pull the ship and move on to others who aren't going to waste our time.

That is the normal initial reaction...However, you are still dealing with an immature kid (or immature young man) He may still go to ND, who knows? But closing the door would not be wise...

He isn't a loss. If the kid is dumb enough to think that Paterno should be respected, then I don't want him representing Pitt. I don't care if he is a 10 star athlete and guarantees Pitt a national championship. Winning football games is not everything.

this didn't take long. yesterday i said the spin will come if jeter goes to ND.

the fact is, BK has curb stomped Narduzzi in our own back yard this year.

This is shaping up to be Pitt's worst local recruiting year in recent memory and that's after an 8-4 record, new energy in the program, upgraded facilities, improved ACC, exciting coach, and a win over PSU. Strange, strange, strange.

People still fail to understand that recruiting is more than just needing a new coat of paint. Pitt football needs DECADES of solid leadership and support from the University in order to establish itself as a true powerhouse and contender. Then maybe we can start truely competing consistently over time in the recruiting game. Until then, we need to take what we can get.

Certainly not spin. You can find the post where he said that about Paterno and I was on there saying we don't need him. I really have no idea how good he is because I don't care. ANY recruit who says that Pitt fans need to respect Paterno should have their offer pulled. We need to at least have that as a standard.

Yea I get that but he's a kid who has little perspective. And I absolutely agree that winning football games isn't everything. But this comes off as sour grapes after he made his decision. If you stated this/this was your stance prior then I will take your word and stand corrected.

I get that part too. But, we gotta get DL recruits. And the shadow of Jeter can't be hanging over this staffs head with other kids.

People aren't willing to wait decades. Houston fans certainly didn't have to wait decades.

Is he a loss...Sure....

But as pointed out....Pitt doesn't need kids who crave attention and likes to "play" on people. Brian Kelly is a few more losses away from being booted. The DC is almost out the door.

Pitt is still recovering from self imposed sanctions. If PN stays with the MSU blue print, and stays at Pitt, Pitt will be just fine. Just need to give him more time.

cant compete with big money.

Well.. good, he is dead to me now. Move on. Staff did all they can and Pitt shouldnt hang their head for a second. We are the alma mater of the best defensive lineman in the NFL right now and have the best defensive coach in college now.

Notre Dame has a soon to be fired DC and a small school in a small flat boring town. But money is money

The responses on here are embarrassing. Notre Dame has great academics, great football tradition, and as much exposure as any program in the country. A player picking ND is not "stupid" or "immature," and Narduzzi did not get "curb stomped" because he lost a recruit to a program like ND. Narduzzi can only sell what he has. He put in the time and effort but got beaten out. What more do you think he should have done? Payola?

It's a disappointment, but you move on. Stop blaming the kid and the coach.

now were playing the sanctions card, seriously?

The way ND is recruiting, he just might be another face in the crowd, instead of a chance to start right away it might take him a few years to play, probably a redshirt. Oh well life goes on at Pitt, we will still put a good team on the field

You need to step away. Most of these kids are saying the same thing about old men needing to let it go on both sides.

Well, Houston did choose to invest $125M to build a new stadium, so there's that. Big time support. That was 6 years ago and I'm not familiar with the type of support they received before that. They could very well be a decade into the institution properly supporting a football program to be a truly competitive team. Their recruiting still stinks, however. So even though they might have had some nice seasons, people should not expect too much because they won't be able to maintain the success with below top 50 recruiting classes. They will likely lose soon.

I think it's best to judge the class on signing day. If it's still outside of the Top 30 then, I'll have complaints. But, now? Come on, man. We'll see who Pitt can land in the coming 6 months.

Is that true for the children that were raped as well? Their families? Other abuse victims who are watching the celebrations of what what the abuse, assaults, rapes were covered up for in the first place?

Current recruiting rankings:

Maryland 17
Rutgers 21
Iowa State 23
Duke 26
Memphis 28
Kentucky 37
Pitt 51

What were you saying again?

Maybe if we win consistently for a decade, we can dream of recruiting classes like Rutgers or Memphis.

What was the average recruiting ranking for each of those schools over a 5 year period?

I'm so f'n sick of hearing about the Michigan State blueprint. I want the Houston blueprint. A coach who walks in and instantly wins and makes his team better. I'm sick of waiting for Pitt to be better.

I'm beginning to agree. I thought the Wisconsin blueprint was a great idea here and when that failed I was a little skeptical of trying another big 10 blueprint. But this one seemed different as Narduzzi actually has a pulse compared to Chryst.

Herman was the guy I wanted here, but he would have been gone so fast it would make Graham's stay seem long in comparison. Called out Houston fans for poor attendance, what would he think about Heinz? Beginning to think we need a system guy like a Holgerson or Malzahn that can put up a lot of points. The idea of trying to win in the trenches against Ohio State, ND, etc is not reasonable. Need to score a lot of points and hope for the best.

This one stings, I had him penciled into this class. I wonder how this affects some of our other undecided prospects? Jeter would have been a huge boost to our recruiting ranking. Hopefully Narduzzi can turn this class around down the homestretch.

The children that were raped are mostly adults now, not 16-18 year old football recruits. Most people don't want to hear the crazies on either side. That includes you and many of us on here, who know how disgusting it is.

If you don't understand that, you may want to stop following anything other than Pitt land and building acquisition/construction.
