The coach who was there before Tom Herman - Tony Levine - was fired after 8-5 and 7-5 seasons. Fired for 8-5 and 7-5...at Houston.
They're not f**kin' around down there.

Which means he loved his 24 hour visit with ND, then his built up relationship with Duzz, says a lot about the kid and what he values as important
I know this isn't popular around here, but not having an on campus stadium, with the passion of game day on campus, kills us here
Yeah, I'm sure a new Pitt stadium could compete with ND.
Give me a break.
You are unhinged.
None of that has anything to do with 16-18 year old recruits saying they don't want to be bombarded by Pitt fans on twitter saying they shouldn't go to PSU because #JoeKnew.
You really should just step away and re-evaluate things. You obviously love Pitt, but you are as homer as it gets and can't even grasp reality.
C'mon ,the Irish are just another 8-4 team yearly, but they do get that N Y day bowl game most years and they do have that huge TV network that helps recruiting.. Sometimes thats all a recruit is looking for, plus a good education. I hope he doesn't regret it later, never know.People still fail to understand that recruiting is more than just needing a new coat of paint. Pitt football needs DECADES of solid leadership and support from the University in order to establish itself as a true powerhouse and contender. Then maybe we can start truely competing consistently over time in the recruiting game. Until then, we need to take what we can get.

With or without a stadium, Notre Dame's campus couldn't be more different than Pitt's.
Pitt's campus is very different from the rest of the FBS: <150 acres, set in an urban grid, bisected by two major traffic conduits, and built vertically. Either kids get it or they don't. It certainly isn't traditional and it isn't going to ever be that way...even if you closed Bigelow, Forbes and 5th.

Nothing like Kelly /ND has had in the past few seasons!Dave was 7-5 in his final season and had a ton of off the field issues with his team.

Sorry, forgot he didn't win the bowl game.
What major issues? Guys getting arrested. That is how you win quickly. Look at Baylor.
You are so blind to the discussion, it is astounding.I don't use twitter. I don't condone twittering recruits. Children were raped. I'm not the one that needs to reevaluate things. If that makes me unhinged, because I don't condone the whitewashing and celebration of a culture and man that enabled serial child rape, I'll gladly take that label.
Foolish to think it, but it is the convenient excuse for every recruit that goes to a bigger, better program over Pitt. Very, very lazy.Foolish to think otherwise. God takes donations
Kelly is a lot like Jimmy in State College. He's recruited very, very well at ND but what does he have to show for it?

No. No one plays by the rules. What color is the sky in your world???
And... I never said that about another recruit. This kid had a final 5 without ND in it. Now he commits early to them in the midst of their defensive coordinator controversy, lots of arrest on the roster and a 1-2 start.
I mean... come on. This is real life, sorry to burst your bubble. Not everyone plays by the rules
As CrazyPaco said, Pitt's urban setting isn't for everyone.
Go Pitt
No. No one plays by the rules.
He visited a historic program and they pressured him to commit or lose a spot. Happens all the time. A lot of times the recruit ends up changing their mind later. Neither has anything to do with money.
But he's not my kid and ND's not my school, so that means I don't have to be proud. At least by your logic. If he was your kid and and he accepted a scholarship to ND you'd be so proud . Good for him and his family.
Pitt will survive and some other kid who wants to go to Pitt will get that scholarship .
If he takes the visits will that mean he got paid by Notre Dame (and no one else) or didn't get paid by Notre Dame?OK, well we will believe what we want to believe. We shall see if he still takes the visits to Michigan and State Penn in November.
Yea. Let's aspire to be Baylor. Good idea.
I was being sarcastic. That seems to be the way the poster I responded to wants to go.
I didn't say he was your kid ,but if any of children excelled at athletics to the point of being offered a scholarship to one of the most prestigious universities in the world I hope you'd be proud of them. You need to take an intro logic course and while your at it a course in common sense. But he's not my kid and ND's not my school, so that means I don't have to be proud. At least by your logic.
I said when the Ped thing happened that 18 year olds don't care about any of this and will still commit to that school. They have 5- 4 stars so far. Unless it is your family member getting raped kids don't care. This is sports in America today. You can say what you wish but if he goes there this is a loss. You sound like one of the Nitters after they lose someone.
