Jeter to the Irish

The coach who was there before Tom Herman - Tony Levine - was fired after 8-5 and 7-5 seasons. Fired for 8-5 and 7-5...at Houston.

They're not f**kin' around down there.

You are unhinged.

None of that has anything to do with 16-18 year old recruits saying they don't want to be bombarded by Pitt fans on twitter saying they shouldn't go to PSU because #JoeKnew.

You really should just step away and re-evaluate things. You obviously love Pitt, but you are as homer as it gets and can't even grasp reality.

I don't use twitter. I don't condone twittering recruits. Children were raped. I'm not the one that needs to reevaluate things. If that makes me unhinged, because I don't condone the whitewashing and celebration of a culture and man that enabled serial child rape, I'll gladly take that label.

People still fail to understand that recruiting is more than just needing a new coat of paint. Pitt football needs DECADES of solid leadership and support from the University in order to establish itself as a true powerhouse and contender. Then maybe we can start truely competing consistently over time in the recruiting game. Until then, we need to take what we can get.
C'mon ,the Irish are just another 8-4 team yearly, but they do get that N Y day bowl game most years and they do have that huge TV network that helps recruiting.. Sometimes thats all a recruit is looking for, plus a good education. I hope he doesn't regret it later, never know.

Yeah, I'm sure a new Pitt stadium could compete with ND.

Give me a break.

With or without a stadium, Notre Dame's campus couldn't be more different than Pitt's.

Pitt's campus is very different from the rest of the FBS: <150 acres, set in an urban grid, bisected by two major traffic conduits, and built vertically. Either kids get it or they don't. It certainly isn't traditional and it isn't going to ever be that way...even if you closed Bigelow, Forbes and 5th.

Nope. Stadium solves it all!

Dave was 7-5 in his final season and had a ton of off the field issues with his team.
Nothing like Kelly /ND has had in the past few seasons!
Just take this year as an example.
Illegal weapon
Assaulting a law enforcement official
Illegal drug use
Clean program????
Its those darn Irish kids!

For those recruits who have forgotten or never knew what kind of a sleaze Brian Kelly really is, I would suggest reading about his departure from Cincinnati, and his comments about African-American culture.

The choice between playing for someone with a well-documented character history as Kelly, or for playing for one of the best minds in college football in Pat Narduzzi is unmistakably clear. All ND recruits should take a good long look at Kelly's reputation before letter-of-intent day.

You are so blind to the discussion, it is astounding.

Facilities count big time on Campus for recruiting but coaching winning over 5 to 10 Years in the Top 25 Rankings builds Top 25 Programs, many Programs have done it, it takes a combination of Good Strong People that care about Pitt's Athletic Furture!

Pitt Football is still suffering from Pederson's Poison to tear down Pitt Stadium to build a Total Basketball Center, when Pitt could have copied a type of Syracuse Dome for both Basketball, Football, and UPMC Practice Facilities. Pederson was never up to that task and more importantly was just a selfish second rate person and putz.

The Pitt Stadium location could have accommodated an Academic/Athletic/FB/BB/TRACK/Practice 40-50,000 Dome Stadium. The Cost Overruns and leaky roof is a testimony of poor Pederson's oversight, foresight, and incompetence?

Pederson did not care about Pitt Athletic, Traditions, or Future and only came to Pitt to become Athletic Director at Nebraska. Steve the sleaze is now gone, and it is time for Pitt Leadership to learn from his mistakes by not making them again.

Up to Chancellor Gallagher & Athletic Director Barnes and Mega Giant UPMC to begin Plans to build such a Facility on Campus but still up to Coach Pat Narduzzi & Staff to start winning 10+ games at Pitt the next 5 years? I am confident they can do it.

Hope Barnes bringing Vandy's Stallings to Pitt that treated Jeter Brother with Arrogant Disdain had nothing to do with Jeter choosing ND too. If Stalling can't cut it ta Pitt as Branes Expensive Prior Boss Consultant, time to hold Barnes responsible, accountable, and not able to be his own man just like Pederson's Poison did at Pitt.

Barnes was smart enough to bring Pitt Script Traditions back to Pitt, Narduzzi has to bring Top 25 Winning, and Gallagher, UPMC & Pitt Contributors need to find and build a an Academic/Athletic High Tech Innovative Stadium with CMU too.

A Sports Innovative Laboratory Building to develop future innovations at Stadiums, Basketball, Practices, Health Rehab, and Driver-less Transportation to and from for all Sports in the future and be subsidized by Fed DOT and PennDOT.

It can be helped by Apple, UPMC, Uber, PNC, Google, Engineering Departments and shared by all not just for Sports but many other uses as well.

Pitt & CMU has all the pieces in place to put it all together, and can do it!

Meanwhile, good luck to Jeter at ND and his Brother at Pitt and Stalling's Son with the Pirates, if Stalling does not work out, then Barnes slow burn will haveto turn into a firing and no Buyout Extension, until Barnes' choice proves it?.......AD's are easy to find and replace, Good Chancellors & Coaches are far tougher! Dr. Juhl proved that in weeks and Pitt can do it again.

Pitt Has So Little Done And So Much To Do!

Foolish to think it, but it is the convenient excuse for every recruit that goes to a bigger, better program over Pitt. Very, very lazy.

What color is the sky in your world???

And... I never said that about another recruit. This kid had a final 5 without ND in it. Now he commits early to them in the midst of their defensive coordinator controversy, lots of arrest on the roster and a 1-2 start.

I mean... come on. This is real life, sorry to burst your bubble. Not everyone plays by the rules

No. No one plays by the rules.

He visited a historic program and they pressured him to commit or lose a spot. Happens all the time. A lot of times the recruit ends up changing their mind later. Neither has anything to do with money.

Jeter would have been nice - or would be nice, if he changes his mind - but we do have Camp and Watts, who may well be better.

I can see where ND's campus could turn a kid's head. As CrazyPaco said, Pitt's urban setting isn't for everyone.
Go Pitt

OK, well we will believe what we want to believe. We shall see if he still takes the visits to Michigan and State Penn in November.

Look what happened to PSU when they went to the Big10 ,( a lot of character issues ) seems ND is experiencing some of this also. When winnig is the most important thing ( only thing ) coaches take chances on questionable character kids. So much for education ! Coaches don't get paid for student graduation rates and qpa's they get paid by V's.
No matter how you feel about Jamie Dixon he kept Pitt bb out of the cesspool that college athletics can be.

If he was your kid and and he accepted a scholarship to ND you'd be so proud . Good for him and his family.
Pitt will survive and some other kid who wants to go to Pitt will get that scholarship .
But he's not my kid and ND's not my school, so that means I don't have to be proud. At least by your logic.

I didn't say he was your kid ,but if any of children excelled at athletics to the point of being offered a scholarship to one of the most prestigious universities in the world I hope you'd be proud of them. You need to take an intro logic course and while your at it a course in common sense.
Ps ..ND is my least favorite college Fb team

not to long ago, he didn't have them in his top 5. then he sent out a message that he was going to visit there, this is the time he got a committable offer. this offer had a deadline on it.

You can say what you wish but if he goes there this is a loss. You sound like one of the Nitters after they lose someone.
I said when the Ped thing happened that 18 year olds don't care about any of this and will still commit to that school. They have 5- 4 stars so far. Unless it is your family member getting raped kids don't care. This is sports in America today.
