Well trade rosters offensively and suddenly Cignetti's offense would be far superior.

Well, if frank cignetti, jr. is a good OC and QB coach, he'd have made changes in the system he is trying to run, instead of expecting his players to fit in to his.
May I add, that if we were to trade rosters, Caleb Williams would not be a Heisman Trophy Finalist and other them Jordan Addison, we would not know the names of any of his WR/TE's.

I am almost certain there was a newspaper article from back then saying it was Pitt that spurned him. PJ was interested in transferring from ND to Pitt, but Pitt told him we did not have a spot. Pickett obviously had been given the keys to the offense by that point, but I also believe we had a bunch of other QBs on scholarship at the time -- that might not be true this time around.

I also seem to remember a newspaper article where he stated that going to ND was his "dream school" to play college football.

Jurkovec will be an upgrade. Here is a comparison of both QB’s, under Cignetti:

Jurkovec: 8 YPA, 24/9 TD/INT 60% completion, rushed for 472 yards and 8 TDs.

Slovis: 7.6 YPA, 10/9 TD INT ratio, 58% completion, rushed for negative yards and 0 TDs.
