He'll have had two weeks of practice running with the first team, we'll see if that helps his comfort level. It's gonna be UGLY on Saturday.
Veilleux seemed to have no type of QB awareness based on his last appearance.
Not to mention he won’t be thrown into the fire of having to play catch up against Drake Maye. He'll have had two weeks of practice running with the first team, we'll see if that helps his comfort level.
It stands to be ugly either way, and no matter which QB Duzz rolls out there.
Maybe, but had good game experienceMaybe Yarnell sucks in practice. People instead will invent conspiracy theories about playing time promises with no evidence.
Yes obviously I watched that game, and I know people are down on Narduzzi. But I think he wants to win now more than anything else, like most coaches, and would have not had Yarnell as third string both of his years here if he was playing better in practice.Maybe, but had good game experience
He will be thrown into a different kind of fire, one just as hot or hotter. We won't be able to run the ball, that Louisville DL will have its ears pinned back, and our OL is not good. That adds up to a rough day for CV.Not to mention he won’t be thrown into the fire of having to play catch up against Drake Maye.
There you go, a general Offense listing Jurk - OffThey should just list him as the backup at every position. Jurk of all trades.
Sounds like the tight end idea was all fun and good, until it came down to the part about never having played tight end before.
Why in the name of god would Jurkovec be listed as #2 QB? He has already proven beyond any reasonable doubt that he can't get it done. Yarnell may or may not be any good but he deserves a shot more than a Phil redux does. Listing Yarnell as #3 at this point is a really good way to get him to transfer. I suppose if that's Narduzzi's "plan" it makes sense, but given the depth at QB we'd better try to hold on to Yarnell.
Because he actually played well before against UCLA and WMU last year. This isn’t some Davis Beville redux. They wouldn’t let a dude who sucks come in and start throwing against UCLA. 1 hr 14 min mark. He may not be a superstar, but has to be above Jurk.Because
He
Sucks
Why is it so hard to understand that your 3rd string QB oftentimes is really bad?

You would be the subject matter expert in terrible......It is EXACTLY Davis Beville and probably worse. He will never start a D1 game. If he cant beat out Phil and Villeaux, he is terrible
He was thrown into a blowout without any reps in practiceIt's gonna be UGLY on Saturday.

Maybe Duzz is doing Jurkovec a favor knowing this. Sit this one out, I’ll put the Nitter out there to get his ass kick.He will be thrown into a different kind of fire, one just as hot or hotter. We won't be able to run the ball, that Louisville DL will have its ears pinned back, and our OL is not good. That adds up to a rough day for CV.
You mean P5 because he already started and won a game with a higher QBR than any one since Pickett. Even was more efficient against WMu than the MsU Qb last year who is now playing for Auburn the $ecIt is EXACTLY Davis Beville and probably worse. He will never start a D1 game. If he cant beat out Phil and Villeaux, he is terrible
Yarnell is just some random 3rd string mid-tier program QB. 100% like Davis Beville. Beville would have beaten WMU. Heck he almost orchestrated a game-winning drive vs Mich St. The fact you think Yarnell is some hidden gem because he completed 9-12 against a bad MAC team daring him to pass is hilarious. Villeaux walked into Oakland and immediately passed him. If Villeaux gets hurt, guess who is coming in?
Embarrassing responses at the presser. Bad look…a coach not recalling if a player ran any routes as a TE - this being the QB you just demoted. And permitting the OC to make the demotion because it’s a bad look for a HC to butt in. He’s full of sh!t and it’s insulting to anyone even interested at this point.
Patti wasn't talented in any way, but at least he didn't look like he was afraid to be out there, seemed calm and gave good effort, he never deserved to be a D1 starter though. Jurk on the other hand has looked clueless and frustrated the whole time.Patti, despite being recruited over basically every year, will always be a folk hero around here because he didn't play enough for people to see his flaws. I guarantee he is who the coaches told you he was, but you can't convince Pitt fans of something they don't want to believe, so whatever.
Much of it is likely just BS, like all coaches he’s contemptible about the media so he just gives snide answers. That’s all well and good when you are 4-1 but it just serves to add to the ridicule when you are 1-4Embarrassing responses at the presser. There was a very simple answer. We gave it a look for him and for us as a team but decided it’s best to leave him at QB. Done. But he’s gotta be an ass, and yea it’s insulting to anyone whose brain functions even a little.Embarrassing responses at the presser. Yep. That's why I'm not as excited about this as I would have been in the past. You have to learn to read between the lines as a fan. I liked Beville's high school tape and thought he showed some promise in the Spring games. But my goodness was he a deer in the headlights in actual competition. Did anyone see how Oklahoma protected him last year in a game they lost by 7 touchdowns? He threw a dozen passes, and they often went to the wildcat. He looked awful... in year four. I mean, he was exactly who the coaches told you he was (without saying it, obviously).
Thomas MacVittie... never once a candidate to take a meaningful snap here. Went to a JUCO and played his way back into the P5. If you saw him play at Kansas, you know he is exactly who the coaches told you he was.
Joey Yellen... people would never admit it now, but many wanted him to play over Pickett. I got into it with multiple posters on this board over his performance against Miami. He was a statue was an arm that was average at best. A couple performances later... exactly who the coaches told you he was.

But, yeah... everyone thinks Tommy Guns (who was also eventually exposed) is randomly going to come off the bench, and they're just not. If it's a true freshman and the only issue is experience, that's different. But these guys who have been around 3/4 years... sometimes I wish they would play them just to quiet the fans. And to be clear... in this case, I do think you had to bench Jurkovec. But my expectations are not high.

Most people do...He threw a pass like 5yrds AFTER running past the line of scrimmage.
That's like QB 101.
I hope he proves me wrong though.
