This was really the first game I've had a chance to watch this year. A few things that stuck out to me:

1. Artis looks a lot leaner and quicker then last year. Definitely looks the part of a SF. I liked the way he was putting the ball on the floor.

2. Robinson looks more confident in his shot. Would be nice to get some scoring from James on a consistent basis.

3. Wilson can stroke it. Very smooth. I liked what I saw from him. Not bad quickness either for a 6'4" guard.

4. Luther can add some punch offensively, but man is his defense bad. Jeez, I don't think he could stay with me in the paint. Maia isn't much better btw. Nelson has the tools, but can't stay on the floor. Based on what I saw tonight, Mike Young is going to play a bunch of minutes at the 5 when we get into league play.

5. We still can't stop dribble penetration.

Hopefully, our offense continues to develop and we learn to play at least respectable defense. I suspect we're going to need to score a lot of points this year to win.

Artis, Young and Robinson all look to be leaner, stronger and quicker. Hats off to those guys for putting in the work and great job by the strength coaches. Robinson has a much nicer and quicker release on his shot and appears to be doing what the fan base and coaches want in being more assertive.

Meanwhile, we have two NBA players in the starting lineup in Artis and Young. Not many duos like them out there aside from the obvious blue blood programs.

1. When Artis first arrived at Greentree a few years, he was huge. Had a gut. Thought he was one of those big centers that have a hard time running the floor. Now look at him. .
2. James hit a few nice shots after the whistle that didn't count. He must have been doing a lot of shooting while hurt. Hope it continues.
3. Everybody raves about Wilson, but he hit only 1 of 9 last night. I think he will be good, but took some wild shots. Maybe that's a good thing as he's showing no fear.
4. Luther would have been 6 for 6 if he hadn't taken any 3s and they were way off. IMO, he should just lay off the 3. Agree that Young will be playing a lot of 5. He's a great player.
5. Hope Pitt doesn't turn into a Syracuse, but the zone worked.

Wilson had a bad shooting game and forced his shot. But he also had 4 assists and 4 rebounds as a bench backup. He rebounds better than any other guard on our team. He also might be the best passer on the team, right now. He reads the floor well.
