If you go by Sagarin's updated ratings:

84.87 Pitt's rating for a road game
84.81 GT's rating for a home game

0.06 difference, sounds like a pick'em to me?

That's why trying to figure out this team is impossible. Very few thought they would beat Duke and we pounded them, but most thought we'd beat VT and the team was ridiculously flat, unfocused and we lost. I'm done trying to guess whether we win or lose. If we "show up" and play hard we should win. If we play like we did against VT we lose by double digits.

That's why I don't bet. and esp. won't bet on a Pitt game. Really inconsistent all year. Frustrating. I don't think we're as good as our best (Duke) or as bad as our worst (NCSt.??)

I will never bet AGAINST any Pittsburgh team because wanting them to lose to collect money would depress me. On the other hand, I have bet ON a Pittsburgh team but would never touch Pitt this year. Way too inconsistent for me on so many levels.

We are the most 8-ish 8-seed in the history of 8-seeds.

We all know that this team runs and hides at the first moment that adversity strikes. Since the game is on the road, I am pretty sure they will face adversity at some point, if not right away. If they continue to cower from it they will lose by more than ten. If, in the rare chance, they chose to respond and fight through it, they will win a close ballgame.

I think GT packs it in after their loss to Ville, and Gregory more than likely out as coach. I think Pitt wins and we score more than 70 points.

I've just seen a Vegas line that shows GT favored by 2, not sure if that was the opening line or current.

Taping at 2pm will check score at 4 and be on toilet bw those times

This team has been surprisingly good on the road-- the Va Tech game not withstanding. It's so hard to win on the road in power leagues, and Pitt already has 3 road wins (ND, FSU and Cuse). I'd add the UM game was a good effort as well. Throw in the neutral win vs Davidson (I won't count the neutral win vs Duquesne) and Pitt's road / neutral record is pretty good for a power conference team.

Who knows how that translates tomorrow-- but this team has responded pretty well, including on the road, when they've had to. Pitt won @FSU immediately after NCSU game. Pitt won @Cuse after the near debacle vs. Wake. While a loss, the effort @UM was after getting beat badly at home by UVA. Heck, the Duke win was after what was such a deflating loss vs. Louisville. I'd say this team has generally shown up when their backs were against the wall. Hopefully this continues tomorrow.

I would agree with this and would add that I do think Pitt will be ready and will battle since a bid is at stake. That being said, noone really knows what our panthers will display tomorrow!

How in God's name this pathetic, cowering bunch of misfits won 20 games this year I'll never know.

This team doesn't deserve to make the tourney. Lack of skill I can deal with but lack of effort is a whole different thing. Sad thing is it's going to be the same old crap next year too!
