Kham Davis staying

Ideally, he’s on the bench. Pitt needs better than 4 ppg.

This tells us something. He's staying, and apparently Capel wants him here. That's
good enough for me. He was not highly recruited, yet IMO he was better than his
ranking. However, I doubt he had a lot of transfer options. A guard like this off the bench
is a good thing as long he's no more than the number three off guard.
Now that Stewart is gone and Carr with some very good options, Capel needs to
bring in maybe three guards, and definitely a PG who can start from day one.

I agree. Maybe Capel can work with him and improve his offense. He’s a great defender, but to be a starter, he just needs to contribute on offense more.

And don't forget we desperately need a strong rebounding big as well. We were -6.2 boards per game last season.

The thread was about guards, but now that you mention Bigs, you're right. A lot depends on Browne and Luther. If they're both back, we still need at least one Big. It could
even be a grad transfer. I'd prefer a quality underclassman since Luther is gone after
this year. If Luther and Browne leave, we're in trouble. Capel would have to find at
least a grad transfer and an underclassman, George and Illegomah are not even
close to being ready IMO. It'll be interesting to see if those two are invited back.

I like Davis. I think he can be a Cam Wright/Chris Jones type, maybe better. Inotherwords, I think he can be a 7th/8th man on a good team. If he is starting for multiple years like Wright and Jones had to, then there is a major problem in recruiting. Guys like Wright, Jones, Davis coming off the bench is fine.
I agree with all of your points. I think kham could develop into a quality bench player like Chris Jones and am excited that he's staying. Although I do disagree where you said he could be even maybe better than that, because I think that's his ceiling. Of course, I'd love to be proven wrong.

Of course!

He’s long, athletic- can defend-
And his outside shot was better than I expected .
He can develop into an useful player

I think he's a better defender than Jones right now and could develop into a better defender than Wright, who I would only say was "above average" defensively

3&D guys have value in a rotation. Doubt he'll ever be a star, but he doesn't have to be.

I agree, and his shot mechanics look much better than the Wright or Jones. He can improve.
I absolutely agree with you. Cam had a horrible shooting stroke. Jones' was fine. But Davis' stroke looks good. He can't get his own shot from deep, but he holds his own as a 3point shooter with an open look.

And that's why I think he has a higher ceiling than Wright and Jones. Can potentially be a real good shooter and real good defender

He could be a good cooler. When some dude on the other team is starting to go off on us...Kham, go take care of that guy! Situation solved.

Brown was behind me in the airport leaving Pittsburgh yesterday morning. Not sure if that means he was leaving to visit another school or family.
