The former OC and QB coach at Pitt is being recognized by footballscoop.com as the 2017 QB Coach of the year for the outstanding job done preparing Jake Fromm after losing Jacob Eason to a late hit injury in the first game of the season. Clearly, Fromm is an outstanding talent and this was noted before the season, however Chaney went with a young kid early and guided him through a legit schedule.
I wish the Pitt coaches would have had the same confidence/determination to develop and play the most talented players. Hats off to Chaney on a job well done. I'll enjoy seeing what the Dawgs can get done in the playoff's.
