It's good to confirm this. Pitt's biggest hope is to get sufficient numbers of these kind of guys to hopefully get "coached up" beyond what happened at their blue blood, and augment the core team. It's the hopeful benefit of the relaxed transfer rules. Certainly we always have risk of our own depth guys also bolting, to the MAC or whatever, but hopefully the net gain will be positive. Lotta "hopefully" in the above and that's usually a bad business strategy to bank on but all we got...
Nothing wrong with adding experienced depth to a thin linebacking corp.
Best case he's a starter; worse case he's a solid depth option
Worst case is he's a depth guy that is penciled in at starter because the current LB core consists of practice squad level guys.
