You can forgive them for not making the NCAAs last year, but they have managed to lose to Penn, St Joe’s AND Drexel already this year.

How many Big 5 losses did Nova have in the previous 20 years? Couldn’t have been more than 4 or 5 right?

Amazingly in the big 5 tournament, they came 6th. But hey, barriers broken qualifications be damned!

they looked out classed in the NIT last year vs liberty. That’s bad but losing 2 big 5 teams plus Drexel, which is so irrelevant that it wasnt good enough for an irrelevant but historic tradition like the big 5 for like 7 decades, is unforgivable

The Big 5 ain't what it used to be. If
you've been to the Palestra back in the
day when ALL Big 5 games were played
there, you've seen great bball. Any of
those teams, Nova, Temple, Penn, LaSalle,
or Nova could pull an upset, and often
did. Once Nova won a national championship
with Rollie as coach, things changed. Nova
bulit a new fieldhouse, played major BE
games at the Spectrum and forced the
others to come to their fieldhouse. Rollie
moved to Las Vegas, and Nova being in
the BE made them king of the hill in
Philly. Most other eatern teams not
invited to the BE became almost like
second class citizens in the bball world.

The Big 5 games are not high on Nova's
list of important games. The others look
at the Nova game as one of their major
events. Even so, Nova shouldn't be losing
to them especially after having beaten
UNC, Maryland, Dayton, Texas Tech,
and Memphis this year. Drexel?....That
loss is unforgivable to Nova.
