Same old story. Cant shoot. Cant score. "Hide the women and children offense."

Jamie is a good defensive/rebounding coach but when it comes to coaching up offense, he's actually very bad.

If this was a limbo competition, we'd be kicking arse.

P.s., did u see our games this year?

I actually think his Anxiety/OCD gets the best of him. I played and coached for a baseball team in which we always had a winning record and made the playoffs, but the HC was wound so tight that it rubbed off on the team in a bad way.

Ocd? That's new. Oh, you mean how he taps his left foot three times every time he calls timeout? Or his incessant hand washing during the game?

Pitt plays like Jamie coaches....with a tight sphincter.

It's the only explanation for these 50-point flame outs year after year. There's enough of a history of losses like this to prove it's on Dixon.

You don't win games with points. WTF! You win games with rebounds and defense. Points don't matter.

Ugly basketball when the lights are brightest. That's Jamie's legacy.

Oh well.. good season. I'm looking forward to scoring 90 against Boston College next January. We might even have a real shot to lead the nation in offensive efficiency during December. Should be pretty exciting.

Not entirely true. We have won plenty of big games. Just not recently.

If you told me I could choose between knocking off a few top 10 teams during ACC play each year...

OR...

none of that, but instead one run to the Final Final at some point over the next 5 seasons...

Final Four. Easy choice.

I doubt it. People write that all the time, but it's a lie. If we get to the FF next year, then totally shart the bed the next four, you and others would be screaming about how we didn't translate a FF into a better team. You really would, and you know it. And you would be right. But don't tell me you wouldn't care. So don't give me that silly choice.

I've been a proponent of the "tight sphincter theory of March disappointment" for quite a while now. I don't how much more evidence will be needed before this becomes an accepted law of Pitt fandom.

You're right. It's a limited hypothetical... only meant to boil down my feelings to something that can best express how pointless the regular season becomes when you have little hope of any translation to March.

It's true... in the real world, a trip to the Final Four should be capitalized on, and I would indeed be annoyed with Jamie if he had another multi-year recruiting debacle and transfer-fest like the one that followed our last #1 seed in 2011.

After tonight I have no doubt that Dixon does something every March that paralyzes his teams. The tight sphincter theory is a good term for it.

Where was the rebounding in the second half? When you can't rebound and your point guard misses his last 10 you have a very slim chance of winning, slim goes out the door when the coaching is atrocious. By the way it probably doesn't help recruiting when Charles and crew are making fun of the score and missed shots in this one.
