Kenny White talks Pitt, increased recruiting interest

Ryan Donnelly | Staff Writer
..........“I think Pitt played really well this year. They beat Clemson and then [Clemson] went on to win the national championship. I give a huge shoutout to Pitt. It would be really big if Pitt offered me,” White said. “I would love to be there. I know some of the players like Damar Hamlin and some other guys. It would be great to play with them.” While White spent most of the tryout on Saturday at defensive back, he plays both ways at the high school level. For whatever reason, western Pennsylvania seems to have produced an abnormal number of players who see action on both sides of the football in college and White would love to be next in line. “I would actually love to play both ways, but sometimes you’ve got to make the right decision on that. I would like to play defensive back for sure wherever I go though,” White said.............

Pitt Sports Chat Now:
New Castle (PA) Neshannock tight end Tyler Sear (6-foot-5, 250 pounds) committed to Pitt many months ago. Since then, he’s been very active on social media supporting Pitt athletics and trying to recruit others to the 2017 class.....“I arrived on Friday around 11:30AM for the official visit,” said Sear. “Me, Paris (Ford), Cam (Bright) and Todd (Sibley) were the first people there. We were hanging out watching Steelers practice and Coach Duzz asked us if we wanted to go down onto the field and possibly meet some players. We told him we would love to and we got to hand out with players, watch practice and meet Mike Tomlin.”

On Campus Yesterday:
Did have Lunch with a Developer that been in Shadyside for over 20 years. Told me much New York money coming in right now buying up land and buildings all around Pitt, Shadyside and CMU. Will be back later this week in and around CMU Innovation Center. The area looks just like Silicon Valley in observing street walking, student's jogging, and bike riding. What a beautiful Campus of Higher Learning and Diversity of Restaurants in and around reflect Silicon Valley as well. Also, spent time with Pitt Professor and Top Student Foreign Ph.D Innovators Candidates. Talked about new systems of Transportation based on Human Biology built on constant movement like blood vessels with no Traffic Lights, just one constant big system of Robotic Systems of Movements same as being discussed in Silicon Valley, Singapore, MIT and PENN. Quite revealing and unlimited imaginations on building more Info Network Systems based on and from Efficiency Biological Systems and PITT-CMU on the cusp of developing the Inherent Interconnected Network System like the Brain operating many Machines, Networks, and Coordinating them all together. There won't be Rush Hours Stallings just constant movement, no Human's Driving.

I'm really encouraged about this staff's ability to recognize athlete's who they believe will mature & develop into even better versions of themselves.
And 2 kid's in this class who I think are just scratching their potential are Van Lynn & Sear. Both have exceptional frames to build upon while already being good versatile athletes.
Neither of these kids have that overgrown baby fat bodies that young kids often have at this stage coming out of H.S. where their enormous size allows them to have a huge advantage. I believe our staff looks at what kind of athletic ability & skill to go along w/ their fame a kid has knowing they can develop, groom & find a spot for them to play.
Sear is a damn fine hooper in his own right while I believe Van Lynn also plays basketball. I know personally I would much rather get kids who can build up as opposed to taking a kid & tearing his body down(losing weight) before building him up.
In any case I am very encouraged in these 2 under the radar recruits as I believe they are every bit as potentially talented as many of the more highly thought of recruits.
Like Sear said in his chat w/ the Lair staff..." he did not need LSU or any other highly thought of football school to validate his self worth or ability as a ball player. He knows given the opportunity he will compete w/ the best. And at Pitt he will more than have every opportunity to get this done.

H2 PITT !!!

This is what I am seeing too from Pat & Staff, and it is growing the recruits you do get to develop them into a winning team that does not quit. Pitt by no means has the Talent of Bama, Clemson, Ohio State, Penn State, or USC, but like Northwestern, Iowa, and KSU can develop to be like MSU, Wisky, TCU, Stanford, VT, and OKST and play with the best of them.

One can develop a Winning Team in a year, but it takes 5 and 10 years to win 10+ Games of Great Coaching and Recruiting to develop a Top 25 Program.
