Well, you're correct.
But after the 7-0 start, where all the things that caused us to lose every year since I can remember didn't happen, you start to say OK, this is the year. 7-0 is 7-0. We had plenty of good football early on. Now we have no more fast offense, that disappeared, the o-line blows a ton, etc.
Like I said elsewhere, I was in school when Walt coached and brought us back from the dead. Those were wonderful times.
I previously sat through so many games in Pitt stadium in row 52 under the scoreboard watching a basically JV team when I was in middle school and high school.
What happened after Walt with Wanny having let downs were not as big as not beating Michigan State in 2021 and now this absolute garbage that we've seen the past 2 games. Again, after you start 7-0, you change expectations. You have an 11 win team, then a 9 win team that wins 11 again if Patty plays all year instead of Slovis, last year is the anomaly, and wow, we're 7-0, it's finally happening.
And by far the biggest thing is this - after the Miami loss on Saturday, Pitt knew they had a chance for a SMU rematch. And they come out like they don't even want to have their uniforms on. That's some santa claus, tooth fairy, whatever type shit if I've ever seen it.
Even just dropping SMU and either clemson or louisville would be not horrible. The result Saturday night is a total farce.
