Latest on Miles Sanders situation...penn state better be worried...

I'd rather see him at MSU than PSU obviously, but why not Pitt? Has that ship sailed officially? Are we still working on him or has he made it clear that he's not interested?

Maybe Shady McCoy should give him a call.

I was wondering about this too. I know Pitt was in the running at one point. Did Chaney really make that much of a difference?

Just the fact that he is looking around is a change! If he ends up at MSU so be it since we don’t play them. I think PITT still has a chance!
yeah but this is the kind of player we need to start to land to get this program to where it needs to be. 5 star RB in Pitt's back yard. I'm sure it isn't for lack of effort on the part of our staff, but we simply may not quite be ready to attract elite players like this. 5-6 years ago, MSU never would have been in the running for Sanders.

You mean like DJ or JW? 5*s who are stars at PITT and will play on Sundays! Sanders’ mother for some reason wants Miles out of the city! We will see how things go for RF next season but Bama has 4&58 all over their WR group so he may never be more than a spot player. You would think with all the RB success that PIT has had the last 12 years that top RBs would be knocking on the door.

I like Miles to stay in Pennsylvania too, but I am happy if he ends up happy wherever he decides in the end.

If he would go to Pitt he would be part of the same philosophy MSU runs the ball since Narduzzi & MSU are from the same type of Programs.

Either way, if Mile goes to Pitt or MSU, Penn State is losing a Commit that Penn State will face 3 to 4 years and vice a versa, if Miles stays with his Commit, Pitt and MSU must stop him if he plays with Barkley at Penn State?

No question, Barkley is the prime back at Penn State behind a questionable Offensive Line versus at MSU or PITT the Offensive Lines are proven to be better!

Still, it is hard for me to believe Sanders would De-Commit from Penn State?

And BTN's Tom Dienhart offered his predictions.
Here's what Dienhart wrote about Penn State as he picked the Lions to finish fourth again......"Year Three under James Franklin will be pivotal. Let me type that again: Year Three under James Franklin will be pivotal. Progress must be shown after consecutive 7-6 seasons. Franklin has hyped his program very nicely. Now, it's time to deliver on the bluster. The program is back to a full allotment of scholarships, but the roster still trends young. On top of that, questions nag the offense. Will the line be better? Is there an adequate replacement for QB Christian Hackenberg, as the offense transitions to a new coordinator and altered scheme? And the defense also has a new leader with coordinator Bob Shoop off to Tennessee. That's a humongous loss. It's going to be an interesting 2016 in State College."

Pitt has landed players like this.

I had no idea he cancelled his visit.

9, I disagree. I strongly prefer sanders over Washington. Sanders also ranked much higher. He's local, which is a huge plus for perception and also sanders comes with less baggage.

I hate to perpetuate rumors that have no confirmed basis, but if there is any truth to speculation that Sanders' mom prefers he gets away from some local bad influences in his life, then Pitt being of no real consideration as he looks away from PSU makes a lot of sense.

Yes. I see Franklin as a wonderful influence on these kids with the dumb things he has said in the past. So if there is any truth to her wanting him around coaches who are a good influence then how bright must she be to send him to penn state.

The article is from The Detroit Free Press. It is not interested in giving their readers Pitt related news. What this article does is further confirm that Sanders is looking around. Much to the dismay of the "he is going to PedU. Move on" crowd.

Whether he ends up at Pitt or not the door is obviously open now.

Would love to get Sanders, but its not critical that we get a top back THIS year.

If Conner is back, he will be the starter, with Ollison, Ibrahim and Hall fighting for carries. I think Hall will make a big jump from frosh to soph. And Ibrahim is talented and productive. Its possible that our 1000 yard rusher this year doesn't get many carries next year, as he is similar to Conner in style, but not as talented.
If we get a top back in 2017, that will be fine. BTW, Moss could be a real sleeper too.

I disagree. Narduzzi would take a very highly back every single year if he could. Narduzzi really wants a back with some wiggle and can make guys miss.

Plus, we're not running a spread, Narduzzi wants to pound the ball, getting a top rated back each year is necessary. We can not predict the future, guys will get hurt, guys will transfer, guys will be busts and in some cases...some will get cancer. Again, it's impossible to predict the future.

We have no shot since Chaney left, they liked Chaney and wanted stability. It's looking like he's a sure bet to end up at MSU so at least we won't have to face him for 4 years.

So there is no way that any MSU assistant coaches will leave in the next 4 years? I can understand the want for stability, but it is silly to think that assistants will not leave to better themselves from any program.

MSU can not guarantee any assistants not leaving any more than Pitt or PSU.

IMO if Sanders doesn't stick with his commitment to PSU the Carnival Barker's circus is coming to a close sooner than many have speculated. Co Head Coach Terry Smith supposedly is like family to Sanders. This whole deal is strange.

Since Dantonio arrived they are as stable as it gets in college football. Minimal turnover for 8-9 years. We have had like 5 HCs in that time. Our last guy was plugged as Mr. Stability, the long term guy who had job interest in gong anywhere (and who no. Other program but one was interested in poaching) going to build something here, but he ran to Wisky the second the job was offered/ Our current HC was hired a year ago. His offensive coordinator left as soon as the season ended. Pitt has given recruits plenty of reason to be concerned about stability. After a couple more years of Dooz, that may not be much of an issue, but frankly it would be foolish not to at least have some concern at this point .its a big decision for a kid, arguably the most important one he'll ever make. Until Narduzzi turns down a big time job to stay at Pitt, stability is just a word.

Why would they be worried? They have a true freshman running back who was their best player on the team this past year.
You act like this is the first recruit ever to possibly change his mind.

As if going to PSU guarantees your son won't get into trouble? It's worth pointing out over the past 10-15,year period the rap sheet is larger at PSU than Pitt... And by a large margin at that!
