Head Coach Narduzzi is not the sharpest knife in the drawer and that's being kind.

He didn't give Ben DiNucci any snaps last year and thrust him into the fire in the bowl game. DiNucci played admirably and well enough to bring Pitt back for the win. His teammates left him down ( Nice catch Scott Orndorf ). Let me bring up another Pitt QB thrust into a big situation without any snaps, Wayne Adams vs. ND in 1977 after Matt Cavanaugh broke his arm. Anyone remember that? Mr. Adams had trouble taking snaps and lost a number of them to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Don't get me wrong, that wasn't Wayne Adams fault.

After the bowl game Narduzzi didn't praise DiNucci he CRITICIZED HIM.

Max Browne is scared to death and cannot run. The only reason Pitt scored today was because Browne lost his helmet and scratched his forehead. DiNucci is soooooooo much better but yet stubborn Narduzzi won't play him or at least give him half the snaps. Pitt will lose 3 or 4 more games it should win because of QB play and not have DiNucci experience for next year.

In summary, HCPN is Stupid. Sorry, the truth hurts.

DiNucci was terrible in the bowl game. Practice or no practice, he did not look like a college quarterback. The offseason did him well and he looked decent given the circumstances today. I like his mobility more than Browne but I'm not sure he gives the team a much better chance at winning. I'd rather go with a young quarterback if they're going to make a change.

Sorry Pat, DiNucci is a winner and he is a young QB. It's pathetic that we are suffering through Max Browne.

Agree. Thing is they can probably win 6 or 7 games with Browne. Where as they might only win 5 with one of the young QB's. But at least they would have a returning QB with experience to start next season. And if everyone returns that is eligible to return this will be a pretty good team surrounding the QB.

There an old saying that apples here, everyone's favorite player on a struggling team is the backup qb. Dinucci barely played and ya'll are already anointing him the savior. I think it's best you lick your wounds from Saturday, do everything you can to recruit better (the #1 reason why psu won yestday was flat out talent, unless something drastic changes Pitt will have a hard time keeping pace the last 2 years of the series).

He is one hard headed person , that is for certain.

Yeah, DiNucci was OK in the bowl game, people get into this bizarre cutting the least effective aspects of that game out for him and make it out like he was Joe Montana in it.

I will be honest, my personal view on a VERY small sample size is that DiNucci looks better than Browne, and this is setting up to be a real point of contention.

We have two more games to sort it out. Browne has to get a few bottles of T Booster and amp up his on field performance. I will say, he looked pretty good on the TD drive.

So, question on the Max debate here. Give him another game or two to prove what? Will he get faster, will his feet improve, will his delivery and decisioning get faster, will he start throwing bullets instead of floaters (which only work if we are wide open which we are not capable of)? Look, I desperately wanted him to live up to his 5 stars – and yeah with glass half full I look at the pathetic dropped passed and say “what if”? I just don’t think the things that are wrong with Max are fixable at his age. We are suffering from poor recruiting and simply looking for the best of a bad situation.

On the recruiting side, we have to look in the mirror. Easy to blame the coaches and Heather (or whoever the AD is), but look at what mustard stain is doing at Wisc. The real issue with recruiting is US. We don’t buy tickets, we don’t go to games, if we don we leave at halftime, we don’t donate. We can’t recruit at a top 20 level because because our fans and alum are not top 20 capable. We don’t talk enough about that. Many of us on this board do, in fact, go, stay, pay and donate, but that doesn’t cut it. So, each year we strive to be slightly above average by finding diamonds in the rough.

I’m conditioned for this and try to be balanced in my criticism and praise.

After 30 years, it's going to be hard for Pitt to ask up front for lots of money , especially after Pederson walked out the door with 5 million! BTW, where did that 5 million come from ????Pitt is going to have to put up for a change first before they get people back, like show proof.

Yea I have no idea what your coach is trying to accomplish having Browne running an option. Once maybe but any more than that its the definition of insanity.
