Recruiting is the life blood of basketball. It is also the slimest aspect of college basketball. As a young coach at VCU and Sooner land Capel played the games it took to get top recruits. But he was implemented in the game and vowed to never get down and dirty again. He insulated himself by bringing in his brother as an assistant coach so he would not have to lose control of the situation. While it is safe it does not lead to an aggressive recruiter bring talent to the campus. Hope Pitt has a plan to restructure in the off season, because there may be more schollys available the first anticipated. Unfortunately they don't seem to be involved with many, which could lead to scrambling just to fill out a roster. If this dysfunctional trend is truncated, Pitt will be doomed for the next half decade. Heather needs to make some demands if Pitt is to pull out of this and in a hurry. Pitt needs some first rate recruiters, not nepotistic safe methods. And brother the time is short to make these changes.
