Looking at the media guide...

It looks like the three Pitt turnovers today is tied for the lowest total by Pitt in a game ever.

They had three three times before today. Versus Clemson in 2015, versus Colorado in the NCAA tournament in 2014 and versus Washington State in the CBI in 2012.
Boxscore I saw showed us
with 2 TO's. No big difference
there, but either way it's a
great stat. Not to take away
anything from our players,
it was against a zone.

Great stat!

I wonder what our all time least number of assists in a game is? Only 5 today. Not a good trend the past two games in that regard.

Curious - how many of those games did they win (if it says)?

It doesn't explicitly say, but it's easy to figure out.

Kansas State was a 63-59 win.

South Carolina was a 64-62 loss. Georgetown I am not completely sure, because where it says we only had three assists says the game was on 2/9/90 and according to the historical results section we didn't actually play Georgetown on 2/9/90. We did, however, play them on 2/7/90, and that day we lost 97-81.

Of the eight times with four we lost seven of them. The one we won was a one point win over St. Francis of PA in 1977. Two of the seven losses were in the NCAA tournament, to North Carolina in 1981 and to Michigan State in 2008.

Wow. Thanks for the info, Joe.

Seems rare to win by 10+ with only 5 assists, but only 3 turnovers certainly helps with that.

The other one that's odd is if that is the correct Georgetown game, we scored 81 points and only had three assists. You can almost understand a low number of assists if you only score in the low 60s, especially if it's a game where you make a lot of foul shots so not a lot of baskets to begin with. But 81 points, and still only three assists? Wow.

In the eight four assist games we scored, from lowest to highest, 41 (Louisville in 2016, in a game that we'd all like to forget), 53, 54, 57, 57, 60, 72 (the St. Francis game) and 76.
