I think it's more like this. Bear with me, I just got home, I'm drunk, and I found this funny.
It feels more like this one chick's friends all kept telling you how cool this chick is. Her dad is also friends with your dad so you were pressured into asking her to prom. Then you get there and find out she won't stop talking about herself, can't dance without tripping over her feet, and won't put out until marriage. Then she sees you look at another girl and demands that you take her home.
Then the next day, her dad wins the lottery and all of her friends keep calling to tell you how badly you messed up because look at how successful she has become despite her not being responsible for the windfall.

What I was trying to capture in my version was how it’s someone responsible for good memories in one part of life, then mixed memories in the next. She chooses to move on, doesn’t really change, but has some good luck.
So sure - you are happy for her, but also don’t want to hear about it being a “mistake” when she messed up and then wanted to leave. It was probably better for both.
I don’t think it’s fair for Pitt fans to be pissed at Kenny for not playing in the Sugar Bowl as no one from the 2021 Team played in the Sugar Bowl that year.
Where have you seen evidence of this? Has anyone done a detailed assessment of what Tomlin/Colbert promised Kenny P? Maybe Arthur Smith (who'd been hired to replace Canada) told Kenny he wasn't going to be part of the future. KP was a good guy in EVERY observation for 6 years. And then all of a sudden, he's a quitter afraid of competition?

Honestly, it was probably a good decision as Tomlin was going to start Russ regardless. Pickett didn’t want to be demoted, I kind of get that.
Again, it was best for both sides to split.

Outside of sports, why else would you collectively hate people from a city.
I’m in late 40s and never saw any real animosity towards Philly. Cleveland yes, cincy of course. Even Baltimore cause of ravens.
It's really not that hard to understand. Once the Stillers got Wilson, barring injury there was a 0.0% chance that anyone else was going to be the starter.

I lived in Pittsburgh for almost 7 years being from the Philly burbs and there is certainly a palpable amount of hate for Filthadelphia from a vocal portion of the Burgh area.

I was growing up during the era when TO played for the Eagles and he was very diva-like during that time. Plus that was around the time that a judge told Andy Reid that his house was a drug emporium. It was kinda easy to dislike the Eagles at the time and I think I've carried that forward.
Obviously, if an Eagles fan said they disliked the Steelers because of Ben or Joey Porter during that era, I'd understand.
i dont disagree with this, nor does anyone really. that's why i dont consider it as "quitting" on the steelers, it was a good move by pickett.
but people are denying that pickett even asked for a trade which is not really up for debate..
i think i am just focusing on the sports world and truly, outside of what used to be a truly heated rivalry with the flyers/pens (it has died down some lately with both teams being awful), i just dont see it..
again, zero reason to have any emotions whatsoever towards the eagles as a steeler fan, we've only really played a handful of times over the last 25 years, think i can count it on one hand. and you have to go back to the NL east days, like late 70s early 80s to pull up any pirates - phillies bad blood. Although Bob Walk has told some stories about how those two teams really disliked each other back in the day..
Outside of that, what are you referring too? Just two cities in the same state kind of thing? Politically maybe as some of the past governors have an eastern bias but honestly that's more divided between left wing and right wing. it's like 5 hours away distance, we are more midwestern and they are basically NYC lite so even culturally, there is no comparison.
im not really arguing with you, i find it an interesting topic. i just dont recall reading about it in newspapers or it being discussed by people, this anti philly hate. of course you see the heroine zombie tweets on line with videos of addicts in downtown philly and it being kind of a drug haven but that's most big cities now, sadly even ours.

yeah, why would they. i can honestly say i've never even thought for a second any rivalry whatsoever with the phillies or eagles.
even that phillies / pirates rivalry was a tad before my time. i remember 4 games against the steelers / eagles. when Ben beat a really good iggles team early in his career, maybe his 1st or second year at heinz. They beat us up the last two times here recently, ugly games but we just had bad teams then.
Maybe a game at veterans stadium i vaguely recall but not even 100% sure about that. so again, just makes no sense at all to have any strong feelings towards an NFC East team being in pittsburgh and vice versa...
i've mentioned the politics of governors but that's just left / right wing stuff. i actually liked Mike Schmidt back in the day..
It's not the entire Stillers' fanbase? If it isn't, it's pretty close to the whole thing. Stiller fans are disgusting. This bashing of Kenny and saying some of the things they said about his wife are just a small sampling of their low life tendencies. That's just part of the reason I'm not a Stillers fan. But to be fair, I'm not a fan of the NFL. I just hate Stiller fans on a personal level.
The Stillers can only wish they could be half as good as the Eagles. As long as the Rooneys are around and Tomlin is the coach, they won't sniff anything close to a Super Bowl.

Yeah there's zero rivalry feelings towards the Eagles, they're no different than any NFC team not named the Dallas Cowboys to a vast majority of Stiller fans. As a little kid the Buccos and Phillies had a great rivalry but that was more both teams being good and fighting for the NL East crown, really had zero to do with being in the same state. The Pens-Flyers is kind of like the Steelers-Browns its a rivalry purely due to playing so many games against each other over the years.
for the record, im a steeler fan and i never believed Zach Gentry was banging Kenny's wife. if you are the wife of an NFL QB, you dont cheat on your hubby with the 3rd string TE. just doesnt even make sense,
plus dude is kind of goofy looking. Kenny is dreamy

I don't know anything about the Pickett wife thing. I don't listen to The Fan and don't read or listen to anything related to the NFL or Stillers. So forgive me for not knowing anything about some false rumors about some guy banging Kenny's wife.
i dont think it was referenced on the radio or anything, just a few stupid mentions of it on social media a few months ago. no one took it serious.
never believed these rumors, im not even convinced about Kevin Costner banging Cal Ripken's wife story from 25 years ago. .
What about Cowher banging Kordell's sister and that's why Cowher kept him at QB?

what about the one that the orioles management delayed the start of the game because Cal ripken found out about Kevin Costner and his wife and went to go beat him up and that would have ended his streak of consecutive games played so the orioles made up an excuse to delay the game so Cal had time to go beat up Costner and make it back for first pitch..
or Wade Boggs drank 70 beers on a cross country flight..
I give the Cal story a 10% chance of being true and the Wade Boggs story 0.1%. i think Wade finished a case though. and that's impressive enough..

The Pickett issue is really just a Tomlin issue. Tomlin wouldn’t know a QB project from a hole in the ground. He’s not qualified to change a roll of toilet paper, let alone develop a QB. Add in the uber conservative offensive game plan and here we are. If you’re mad at the Steelers handling of Kenny, look no further than Coach T.
