Louisville favored by 7

I haven't seen Louisville play as yet this year, so kinda hard to be objective. 7 points seems like a lot to give to our club based on what I've seen over the last few games. If nothing else, we play games "close" score-wise. Only thing I can think is that Vegas needed to move the line a bit to get more $$ on the Panthers. Point spreads aren't always about who should win and by how much. They're offered to try to get as close to an even split of the bets as possible so the Sports Books aren't on the hook for a huge payout. I'd like to think that the "truer" spread on this game should be Louisville -2.5 (favored by 2-1/2 points)

I like Pitt to cover this. Any thoughts?

Here's some thoughts for you.....

**That is a great line to bet money on Pitt. Anyone who bets, pick Pitt here.

**If it is a high scoring game, it should play into Pitt's favor due to the fact we have a great offense.

**IMO, everyone needs to remember this is only the second ranked team Pitt has faced so far this year... and this time it's not at home. So, it's not a must win game or a probable win at all.

**On the flip side of that, there is no team in the ACC, let alone the country, that Pitt couldn't beat on a given night. If Dixon can get the defense to be "average" that would only give Pitt a better shot at a good run in the Tourney.

**If this isn't the year for Pitt to make a run in Tournament, I don't know what year is.

**There are no dominant teams like Duke and Kentucky were last year, with players as good as Okafor & Towns were.

** Back to the betting, while I think Pitt can win, I wouldn't be shocked if they lost either. Lousiville isn't ranked for no reason. There ranked cuz they're one of the top 25 or so teams in the country.

**But, I expect Pitt to cover that +7 spread.

Go Pitt....

Sagarin's computer also predicts Louisville by 7 so I don't think the Vegas line was set to get more bettors to bet on Pitt.

I am expecting a loss tonight--an upset win would be a very pleasant surprise.

Yeah, I am unfortunately of the same mind.

There is some reason why we haven't won at Ville in a decade... whatever it is it will likely be on display tonight.

But, I am still hoping we can pull one out.
