Yeah, I don't think most OCs would have rolled with Jukovec. But that wasn't the hypothetical.

2023 offense was screwed with any QB on the roster they rolled with, tbh.

How did they get in that position? That's the most concerning thing to me. Surely Jurk wasn't thier first option when Slovis bailed. And if he was, it would be unfathomable to think they knew he was washed to that extent.

I would really love to know exactly how that went down, beyond internet speculation. For instance, I'm quite sure FSU didn't target DJU to be their guy for 2024. I'm sure there was some chain of events that went down for them to eventually bite the bullet and decide that's best option they have to go with for this season.

I think they put all their eggs in the Cam Ward basket. Then it becomes a Miami vs NFL battle, and they were stuck with DJU as plan B.

I do wonder how aggressive they tried to win this year? Their entire portal class was guys that havent done anything in college, but had lots of years left to play. They were almost high school recruits.

So they were building a somewhat young team in the portal to supplement the high school recruiting misses. And at that point does it make much sense to put a ton into a QB, when your portal class is probably intended for a couple of seasons down the road?

But then they did go after Cam Ward, so I don’t know.

I don’t think for one second that it was Cam Ward and then DJU.

I think the problem was it was Cam Ward and then a big gap, and then “X.” But that meant you couldn’t really go after “X” if you made a serious run at Ward.

It’s like two sisters that you rank as the two hottest girls at the party. You can take one of them out on dates. But if that doesn’t work out, even though the other sister might be your number 2 hottie, you’ve lost her because you went after the other sister. So your number 2 option has to actually be your third option.

Really making a run at Ward meant you weren’t going to be able to land someone like Howard. Because Ward was going to make you wait. He was in no rush. So your number 2 option had to be the best QB you could put on ice, even if he wasn’t one of the best QBs on your board.

Of our remaining 6 games, PITT i s only favored to win two....Cuse and Virginia. Only a 25% chance to beat Louisville, Clemson, or SMU.

What about BC? I know it's an away game, but they are certainly beatable.

Can you bet now on the Pitt vs SMU and Louisville games? Take Pitt. Stay away from Clemson.

Clemson is a home game. Louisville and SMU are on the road. It's a simple as that.

I believe Bell is a good enough coordinator to get the right personnel on the field and get us 3 more wins last year.

It all depends on if Eli can rebound and take care of the football. If he does, we will be in every remaining game. The D is hitting their stride at the right time with Fitzsimmons and James back from injury. Just need Eli to not throw picks.
